TRANSFORMERS Masterpiece Optimus Prime Action Figure

It's here. Its finally here! I finally got this optimus for my collection! *YAY*. I had to paid 300 US for it... *cries* LOL Oh well, you get what you paid for, this toy is not for the faint of heart, if you are a serious collector and you got the cash, then go for it. It's a brilliant item. Hasbro raised the bar with this one. Let's just hope they can keep it up. The toy itself is fully plastic so no diecast. Which is not a bad thing. You won't have to worry about it rusting! Ha! The package for this bad boy was actually alot bigger than I expected it to be which again was suprisingly good. Because before it reached my hands I was wondering if I really spent 300, what would I be getting. Like I said, I hated the fact that I had to pay 300 for it, because at the time of release it was barely 150 US. But the part that really sold this for me was the colour scheme. Now the takara version of this guy is great. But this hasbro version. Really did hit the nail on the head! Every time I look at it the G1 cartoon just keeps coming back to me. Like I said. Go for it, but only if you can spare the cash.

I've wanted to pickup the OG Prime since I was a kid, so one the price went I jumped for it. I'm one of the ones who prefers the colors on the Hasbro over the Takara. Only 4 stars due to it not fitting together as well as the YOTH prime that I also have. Still, nice to have the original colors and he sits on my desk in cabover mode. I work in trucking now so he usually gets compliments either from guys that watched the old Transformers, or guys who used to drive cabovers like me :D

First off, MP-10 is a solid figure and deserves 5 out of 5. This review is for the wrong edition listed. I placed this order on 8/24/15, sold by Downtown Games and fulfilled by Amazon. What I received is the 2015 Asia Re-issue. The 2012 model shown on this page is produced by Hasbro exclusively for Toysrus and deserves this price (you can see the round silver TRU sticker on the bottom corner of the box). The 2015 Asia Re-issue, though also produced by Hasbro, is made in Vietnam and can be found for much cheaper elsewhere.

This is the best transformer my son ever owned. Optimus comes with everything from a battle-ax to the matrix of leadership. His transformation is very unique and he is strong and posable. You have to be careful about the fingers though because they can break off. My son is twelve and and got this and he was able to transform it fine. The age range I think really depends on the experience of the child but under ten years is a little young. Other than that this is a awesome transformer and possibly the best ever made. Worth every penny.

My inner 10 year old wet himself with joy when this arrived. This is possibly the single best Transformer ever made. Yes some have more Diecast. Some are bigger. Some do more things. But this is the one that takes everything we ever wanted in 30 years of fandom and wraps it up into one perfectly revised and designed adult level detailed hero figure. When you all watched the show from your couch cushion fortresses back in the 80's, this is the Optimus Prime you always wanted in hand. The one that is absolutely and exactly what appears on screen. Yeah it's expensive, but your inner 10 year old will love you for it.
