Easy enough a 10 year old could do it
So I bought this for my son, thinking it would be a together project. Well I told him we would do it on the weekend. Well I came home from work the very same day and he had them both built. He loves them. And the shoot they're little bullets. It looks and feels like a real gun. It shoots as if it was real. All pieces are there. Fun for all ages. Great price. Very sturdy. Functions as if it was an actual 1911. Cool Lego building kit.

Interesting little product!
I was quite surprised by the intricacy that went into the design for this product. It acted just like regular Legos, the bricks even made that little click noise just like regular Legos as well. The size of these is what really surprised me. I figured they would be of a smaller scale kind of like miniatures but they are full scale. The instructions were fairly easy to follow. All of the pieces were there. This product has great quality. I did like the fact that it came with a little brick separator because, let's be honest, I did mess up and applied a piece incorrectly so the brick separator came in quite handy when I needed to separate two of the smaller bricks. This had excellent value for the money. If you look at the price of regular Lego sets, you would be spending upwards of $100. The craftsmanship that went into this product is superb. This is definitely a great competitor for Lego's. As an adult who put this together, I wouldn't take it apart, but if a child were to put it together it would easily go with other Lego bricks and add to a collection of various Legos if necessary.Overall great product and will definitely be on the lookout for more sets in the future.

Cheaply made
Cheaply made. Pieces do not click together or hold together. Instructions leave a lot to be desired. Could not finish putting together the first gun and saved myself the frustration of not attempting to put the second one together. Do not purchase this item.

What could have been enjoyable.
M1911 & USP Building Blocks GunsI always state I'm a 56 year old lego nut and have been playing with Lego's since I was 5. My reviews are always honest and I explain in detail when I find something. Lastly, i do not get paid for reviews or receive this product for free. Both of these guns look cool and being able to actually fire is what sold me. I want to really like these gun kits but the poor design choices really hurt this otherwise fun build.** Note I had issues uploading pictures but I would send them if someone wantsUSB GunPros: good looking and fires plastic darts,Cons: the handle and cocking mechanism is poorly designed. The problems:Cocking mechanism:The gun kept getting stuck every time I pulled it back so I redesigned it using the parts in the kit.Section 57: the fix is pretty simple. I swapped the 4 separate 1x2 smooth pieces with a 2x4 smooth piece from the top of barrel. Now it moves back and forth very smoothly and doesn't get caught on the edges of 4 individual pieces. The handle:The handle looks awesome but has several problems with it.1. It needs to be a little longer. I would suggest increasing the length but one or two levels.2. The side covers do not attach that well.3. The internal design where the mag would go should have been redesigned to help keep the side covers attached.Fix it:The fixes are pretty simple and should be done by the designer. Lengthing the handle is easily done so I won't explain that.Sections 40 to 43:Instead of a pull out mag which is sort of cool. I would redesign it by making it part of the handle with additional connection points to help keep the sides attached.Section 42:The best fix is to replace the 4 1b0246001 pieces with 4 1b2008001 pieces which eliminates 4 1b0056001 pieces. In the now open center section, fill it using 4 1b2112001 pieces, 1 1b0244001 piece, and 1 1b2008001 piece. With these changes, you add 4 more connection points per side to attach the side covers. It will make the side covers stronger and less likely to become detached.M1911:Pros: looks coolCons: manual issues, poor trigger mechanism, weak structure issues, bad design. The manual:It's not terrible but many sections don't properly show you how things should look, or pictures cutoff. They should have taken the time to realize that you are unable to see what they wanted to accomplish in a section. examples sections 60, 66, 91 to 96, 105, 111 to 115The problems:This design is a mix of cool and what were you thinking. This is the second time I've had to use superglue because of poor design choices. I hate having to use superglue because it makes me feel like I failed to build it correctly and they didn't take the time to realize it's a poor design.1. The trigger mechanism / cocking mechanism is a mess. It caused a majority of my frustrations. Superglue required to keep the 1x2 piece with red rubberband in place. It will keep coming off no matter what you do. You will also need to superglue the fake hammer piece because that comes off and will stop the section from moving back and forth. Lastly, It doesn't fire the rounds as designed, it just can't no matter how many times you pull the trigger.2. The center section of the barrel is weak, especially at the end . Again poor design choices.3. The trigger guard is small and my index finger barely fit in.4. The Handle is another mess. It's too short and needs at least another two levels, maybe three. It's only attached at the front near the triggered guard leaving the back side to freely move around. This ranks as a serious what were you thinking. It's truly a very lazy design. Why bother with fake mag, it's not designed properly because the center section is loosely attached at one point. The fix.1. Obviously you'll need superglue for places I mentioned.2. I spent some time trying to actually figure out how to get the 1911 to fire. Because of poor design you have to push down on the barrel while pulling the trigger. I did figure out a fix for it using extra pieces that came with the kit. You need one of the red rubberbands and a tan connector that should be an extra piece. Place the tan connector in the 3rd hole from the front of the center support structure. Next attach one end of the red rubberband to the tan connector. Next connector the other end of the red rubberband to the bullet release mechanism. I'll include pictures to show what it looks like. Conclusion:Overall a disappointing kit that has potential but the designers really need to go over the designs and fix the obvious issues. The only two things I can come up with is either the designers were rushed or just lazy. The fact that 1911 doesn't even fire correctly unless you include my fix is telling. Fix the problems and it could be enjoyable build.

These are so cool. My kids really liked them.

Looks good, doesn't function well.
1911 directions are either bad or the design is. There is no mechanism to connect the trigger to the release. It looks good though. USP works fine. Directions clearly show the connection to allow it to fire.

So I bought this for my boyfriends brother he's 12. It was a little too difficult for him. he definitely needed help. There were no missing pieces. It seems very durable. It is functional and was definably worth the money
