works
Don't know what all the hoopla over this cable is. Granted there are bad sellers who may sell incorrect products, but there are plenty of buyers who don't know what they are talking about, too. For example, the product is listed as MQGJ2AM/A, which is a real, authentic Apple product part number, but people are reporting it as fake because they are comparing it to the older MK0X2AM/A which is also a real, authentic Apple product. Model A1703 Part MQGJ2AM/A is the newer version of the cable than model A1656 Part MK0X2AM/A. Apple reduced the price of this cable and changed the part number to the new MQGJ2AM/A or A1703 in May 2018. You can web search and find this out. A1656 also only supported 29W USB-C power adapter, whereas A1703 supports 29W, 30W, 61W, and 87W USB-C power adapters, but fast charging is only supported from certain power adapters. So fast charging will depend on your power adapter paired with which cable. Then you have folks who are trying to fast charge from say their MBP or laptop and saying the cable is fake because it doesn't fast charge.Anyway, know what you are buying, because the product I got at least is the MQGJ2AM/A and it works on all accounts.

This is the legit Apple branded cable
The media could not be loaded. There are few reviews stating that this is “knockoff” version. I was hesitant to get it but this item is ship and sold by Amazon. Being a prime member for over 15 years, I decided to put my trust into the “brand”. It arrived the same day since I need it quickly. The package itself look exactly like the ones you would get at the Apple store, I have no doubt that this is the “Authentic” Apple branded cable. I tested with the power bank I had, which supports “fast” charge mode for iPhone X models and above, the output is 9v 2a, vs the 5v 2a that’s commonly supported by the regular usb lightening cable. After 5 seconds plugging in, my power bank changed its charging status from 5v2a to “fast” charging as you can see on the video. This is the real Apple branded cable and only the Apple branded cable will support the “fast” charge mode, all the 3rd party oem seller on the market claiming that their usb c to lightening cable supports “fast” charge are all false advertising. Apple isn’t giving out oem maker it’s fast charging license til June of 2019. Save yourself time and stop looking for the cheaper oem alternative if you want the real 9v2a fast charge output and get the Apple branded one. After all, you are getting from amazon the same price as if you would get from the Apple store and you don’t even have to drive to the store to get it.

Works perfect
Needed some of these because the new apple blocks aren’t usb to lightning anymore.. a bit annoying but I had to make the switch and these work lovely.

It does support fast charge
The cable is certainly genuine. The first and most obvious is the presence of the Serial Code and Apple Logo , printed 7 inches from the USB Side. It's very hard to spot but this cable in fact had it.My iPhone X doesn't double ding, but i do know that it's fast charging. How? i've hooked up a power meter and saw the wattage draw at 18W which is the MAX an iPhone X or 8 will charge. Keep in mind this is NOT much faster if you are already using a 12W charger, there's really not much of a speed benefit here in that case.Where this USB-C cable really shines is with the IPAD Pro. You get the full 30 watts of charging vs 12 on the standard charger it comes with. There's also no double ding. But looking at the power draw, it's close to 30Watts, which is the Maximum 28 rated the Ipad will charge. Definitely fast charing hereAnother thing to note is that the phone will not always fast charge depending on a few factors, phone temp and the current battery percentage. i've noticed as the battery gets closer to full, it slows down, as observed on the Power meter. So, in short, this cable is not worth it to charge an iphone X as the max charge rate for an Iphone with USB-C is 18watts or 33% faster than a 12W charger, but totally worth it for the IPAD..
