Sufficient to keep Intel Core Ultra 9 285 at stable 80-81 C at full CPU load
I installed this Noctua air cooler in my new PC build, which includes MSI Z890 Tomahawk motherboard and Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor. I initially thought I would need a water cooler to meet the 250W which my CPU can easily generate, and was hesitant because I had some doubts about longevity and long term reliability of water cooling. Of course, gamers who upgrade their PCs regularly probably upgrade their watercoolers too, but in my case I wanted a PC which I can use for at least 8 years with minimal maintenance. I was very happy to find out that this Noctua cooler can handle that amount of heat. There was a concern about enough clearance for DRAM; I got one of the slimmest DRAM modules on the market, Crucial Pro DDR5 RAM 64GB Kit (2x32GB) 6400MHz CL40, but even that DRAM was a little taller (34-35 mm) than the default clearance of 32 mm over DRAM shown in drawings of Noctua. Luckily, it is extremely easy (and approved and recommended by Noctua, if needed) to move the fan which hangs over DRAM slightly upwards on the radiator (it is held in place by wire clips, so one can take it off and install again anywhere on the radiator without tools) to create a few mm of additional clearance. In my case, this fan sticks out a little more than the fan in the middle, but there is still more than enough clearance of the cooler in Fractal Design R7 case. Since fan is bigger than the radiator, there is no reduction in cooling from its repositioning. Manual of Noctua is excellent, written in good English, good pictures, even a screwdriver is included! Very easy to install. Thermal paste included. I am very pleased with the result. The cooler is quite. Noctua has a reputation of a long lasting brand (6 years warranty). Cooling is even better than I expected: in AIDA64 Extreme stress test at full CPU load (without overclocking), the CPU temperature is kept steadily at 80-81 C. A little more money than AIO, but no risk of pump failure or water damage. The worst that can happen is one of the fans fails, but there are two of them and massive radiator would work as a passive cooler even without fans. Talking about water leak risk, I found FAQ on Corsair web site, they say that they see water leak failure rate of 0.016% with their sealed AIO water coolers, i.e., one out of 6250 AIO coolers will leak water-based coolant in the PC. If/when when it happens, I would imagine, liquid may kill the motherboard and/or GPU or PSU. I found no data for frequency of pump failures in AIOs, but people say that pump failures are more frequent as many saw pump failures but not water leaks. Anyhow, air cooler would not leak and fans are very reliable these days, so there is basically nothing to fail :) Noctua has a database on their web site with compatibility of different models of their coolers with processors and motherboards, a good resource to check before buying.

Very quiet
I used to have an AIO water cooler, but this is significantly better. Quieter, and my temperatures improved by an average of 7-10 degrees. Not only that, I was all worried about cleaning off my existing paste, and yet Noctua included isopropyl wipes. This is, admittedly, my first Noctua cooler. I am sold. an excellent cooler and more reliable than AIO as there are no pumps. Even if the fans fail, you will get further with this than you will with an AIO with a bad pump

What a monster of a cooler!!
First thing before considering this huge cooler is how much room do you have to your side panel? I bought a new case and while shopping found that the majority did not have the space needed..but the Game-Max holds it with a bit to spare. The heat spreader is huge and dwarfs the Ryzen R7 it's cooling so the heat only contacts maybe half the spreader and when sudden load spikes the heat it does take a second or three for the cooler to catch and control the temperature. Of course under heavy load once the cooler is really working it controls the 120 watts just fine and does it with near total silence. Most of the time it's completely unheard and obviously a well made cooler.

Really superb air flow, pretty quiet
I purchased this as a replacement for my aio cooler because it wasn’t functioning properly. The rgb lighting software was doing strange things as in not being the color I set It too and then the cooler quit cooling and just shut down the computer. So… yeah it wasn’t that old and needed to be replaced. I. Plus have gotten another aio but I explored some you tube videos and learned that noctua would do the job just was well as my aio if not better. It did… it does. I also wanted to change the round tan/beige fans out to black and purchased the replacements when I placed the order for this. I did not realize I would need special or rather different connector clips. Which I did eventually find that they would send for free… received them and never figured out how to get them to function or rather connect the fans to the fins and stay put. So the original tan/beige fans are still on my cooler. It works really well, keeps my cpu cool… actually a couple of degrees cooler than my aio did… but that is probably because I switched out my rgb fans to black. Yeah it’s not so bright and pretty but it’s nice and cool. I no longer have to fight with the rgb software that simply refused to stay the color under them to… one of the defaults of it. Glad I did this. Computer works great… would like to see shorter air coolers from noctua as I think my next pc will be much smaller, itx takes up so much less space or at least some of the cases do. Would buy this air cooler again without hesitation. Note: not all cases have space for this tall cooler so make sure you check that before purchase. Noctua is great at support too, per my experience with them. Timely and pleasant.

The King of Air Coolers retains its Crown.
This has to be hands down the greatest air cooler ever made. I am using this on a Core Ultra 9 285k, and under load my CPU rarely passes 72c. I was using the previous Noctua Tower Cooler(Noctua NH-D15). Setup and instructions are extremely easy to follow and simple to install. They made some changes to the screws, but the overall setup remains the same. Like the previous model, this cooler is quite huge - it's around 15% bigger than their previous generation, and it has a ton more heat pipes. This is almost equal to an AIO in cooling performance. In fact, I think it's even better. The real major downside to this cooler, is cost. There are AIOs that are cheaper than the NH-D15 Gen2, but what you get is unbeatable. Not recommended for low power CPUs (i3/i5. Non overclockable CPUs, etc.).

Great product
Very good item, I was so glad I got this when I had my new PC built. It is super quiet, though you can hear it when the PC is under load, some older games do it, while other games do not. It does not get too hot and keeps my PC cool enough without the need for water cooling. The warranty is nice. Plus, it can fit on different chipset motherboards. I plan to use this for a very long time.

Best CPU cooler ever!
Works even with overclocking, but when you aren't, it's silent. Came with everything you'd need to do an install- even its own screwdriver. Be careful, though, it won't fit in anything less than a full-size case.

Excellent Cooling but challenging installation for Micro ATX
CPU runs 30 degrees cooler on all cores (Old cooler was a Corsair H60 54 CFM, pretty much worst in class) Only downside is it is quite difficult to fit onto a micro ATX. Had to shift the outer fan slightly to clear the RAM. Don't think the side of the case will go on anymore but I'm used to running without it because the last cooler was so bad.

Outstanding cooling performance, dead silent, but extremely large
I installed the Noctua NH-D15 G2 on an Intel i5-13500, and the cooling performance has been excellent. Under normal workloads and sustained use, CPU temperatures stay below 55 °C, and even under heavier loads the cooler remains virtually silent. Noise levels are low enough that it’s effectively inaudible in a typical case. Build quality is excellent, as expected from Noctua. The mounting hardware is solid, installation was straightforward, and once mounted the cooler feels very secure. The dual-fan setup moves a lot of air without needing high RPMs, which is clearly where the quiet performance comes from. Size is the one major consideration. This cooler is absolutely massive. In my case, I had to slide one of the fans outward to avoid interference with my RAM, and clearance could be an issue in smaller cases or with taller memory modules. It’s not difficult to work around, but you do need to plan for it before buying. Pros: Excellent cooling performance Very quiet, even under load High build quality and secure mounting Cons: Extremely large and heavy RAM and case clearance can be an issue Overall, this is an excellent air cooler if your case has the space to accommodate it. If clearance isn’t a concern, it delivers top-tier cooling and near-silent operation.

Extremt bra kylare!
