No more tumble drying for me. Possible game changer *by M***A on 29 September 2022* OK so I am super mean. Why should the gas/electric companies have my well earned cash? I wanted an alternative to the tumble dryer for winter and am out at work during the day. As promised, my new laundry toy arrived yesterday - and I couldn't wait to use it.So far (alright I have only used it once!) it's looking like it might be a game changer.It's really easy to assemble - 1 minute max (although we haven't put the castors on it). It is quite large so be prepared to lose a bit of space. ****Update - I have used this many more times and I still find it effective. Works even better if you place the dryer near a sunny window during the day.The airer was loaded with washing* last night and a sheet draped over the top. Used the 4 hour timer (I can confirm it turned itself off after 4 hours). It was then left turned off overnight with clothes still on it in an unheated house. By morning, most of the washing was almost dry. A quick iron (no steam) this morning and everything was properly dry. As I am too mean to buy a cover, I am going to make a proper cover for the airer out of some old bedding - does it matter if the sides and top are different colours??Update - made the cover using old bedsheets and some velcro (can't be bothered with zip). Works brilliantly.Tips for using the airer:Do make sure you spin the clothes properly (where it is appropriate for the clothes). I used 1400 spin speed.Load the airer from bottom up as it can be tricky putting things underneath when you have a sleeve hanging on your head.Wash your clothes inside out and put them on the airer inside out to avoid potential marks, especially on black things/jeans.Make sure your clothes are straightened out before loading on the airer (also open up collars on shirts)Space out the clothes properly, if you overload it, the dryer will take ages!!!If you haven't bought the cover, put a sheet over the airer when it is turned on. If you're looking for a strong, sturdy, and efficient indoor dryer, this XL-sized marvel from Easylife is a must-have. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, but For the Price, Room for improvements *by L***M on 16 March 2025* Works well, energy efficient, sturdy enough, fits one medium-large load, and I like that it's on wheels.However, frame not heated, which means that the top 'X' is not very useful for hanging, though I sometimes drape a sheet over it to dry, which works over time. Two timer options: 2hrs and 4hrs. This is annoying, as a load takes about 10-20hrs to dry, depending on materials/load. You have to keep going back to start a new cycle, and the control for this is not only tiny but located at the bottom of one of the frame poles instead of midway up or at the top.
