I was looking to replace my old melamine plates I bought from Target many years ago and this set fit the bill perfectly. I usually eat my meals holding the plate in my hand or lap while watching TV or the computer and I needed light-weight material, which rules out the ceramics/stoneware dinnerware sets. Note that this review is for the "colors" Yellow-Gold, Sage Green, Rose-Red, and Blue; other color selections are different products altogether, which have some negative reviews. True, these are not microwave, oven, or dishwasher safe, but that's what melamine is and I have no problem with that. The set I received was in perfect condition and exactly as pictured. Quality is excellent. Product has a simple mid-century-modern aesthetic to it that I really like.

I had to buy melamine sets because my Heath Ceramics set was being trashed, not by the kids but by my husband. So I figured this set would help extend the life of the expensive plates. Two things I have an issue with. One they say the product is dishwasher safe on the top rack. Well it’s not possible to put the large plates on the top rack. So we put it in the lower rack where they can fit. The dishwasher does affect the color of the plates. It’s not horrible, but the alternative is to wash the plates by hand and that defeats the purpose of having non breakable plates for a family of 6. Another minor issue I have with the plates is the rim makes it a bit difficult to cut stuff with a knife. And the plates don’t sit flush on the table, they spin lol. The kids like that but can be annoying. Overall is a good set for everyday if you don’t mind the above. The color is nice.

I ordered 2 sets of these Gibson Home Dinnerware sets so that I would have 2 of each color, however today I was really shocked at what I received! Broken, scratched up and extremely thin and brittle Melamine (more like extremely cheap plastic) plates, bowls and cups! The pictures shown on Amazon depict a nice set of Americana style colored dishes.. No this is not At all what I was expecting. The dishes were all covered in a thin dirty dusty funk that I am scared to even use them. They are supposed to be microwave & dishwasher safe, but do not look like they will even be able to handle hot foods. The material is so thin that you can see daylight though the plates and bowls. Such poor quality Gibson Home! Now I have to pack this junk back up to send back to Amazon!

Honestly, this is such good quality you wouldn't know it's melamine. It looks and feels heavy. Love the size of the plates and bowls as well.

The plates have been okay. But the two bowls cracked after two months of light use. Not super impressed with the quality. I wouldn’t buy this again.

Thought these would be a little more durable but i literally broke a plate just with my fork and pressing on it. Paper plates would have been better. Not impressed.

Esta muy linda pero no leí que no se puede meter al micro y pues como una vajilla que no pueda entrar al microondas ?????? Muy triste
