Burris410615 XTR Base Savage Short Long Round Rear (Black)

These bases helped me mount a new Vortex scope to my 20 year old Savage #111 in .30/06. Could not get my eye box right with the single slot Weaver mounts my gun had. My 111 has the rounded rear and front mount and the mounts and screws worked like a charm.

The bases are fine and fit well. The screws on the other hand do not fit the receiver. I have a brand spanking new Savage 110 ultralight and the screws are too small. I just got back from the hardware store with a mitt full of screws that I hope will suffice. I think they were #8 metric and I think the package more than likely has #6.

I recently purchased 3 Savage Axis XP rifles and wanted to change the scope rings from Weaver to picatinny. These Burris 410615 XTR mounts fit perfectly, were easy to install, and the picatinny rings are much stronger and stable then the original.

These bases are awesome. They are solid steal and so are the screws. The instructions tell you to loc tite the bases to the receiver as well, and I also put loc tite on the screws. No problems with loosening yet after shooting 100 rounds of .308, these are much better than cheap aluminum bases I had tried until this point. Have a steel receiver on your rifle? Use steel parts! These are absolutely perfect for my Savage 16 Trophy Hunter XP, and I'm glad I don't have to worry about the bases coming loose anymore.

I originally purchased a different base mounting set based upon the advice of a Burris customer service rep. It turned out that he gave me bad advice, and that base mounting did not work for my set up. After going over the catalogue with the person who mounted my scope, I purchased this mounting set which was what I needed. So far, it has been holding up.

I bought this for my Savage Model 11 Hog Hunter and it works like a champ. I used this to replace a full-length EGW Picatenny rail mount because I wanted the extra clearance to load and unload rounds from the top of the rifle. This mount solves the problem and the ARMS quick detach rings I use for my optic fit perfectly. Great purchase for my needs.

Good product, allows for better positioning of scope for eye relief, and fits most savage rifles. It comes in round rear format and flat rear formats.
