Western DigitalAV 3.5 inch 250GB 7200RPM Internal SATA Hard Drive

I wanted a very small capacity system HD for our server - by default (easiest!) WHS 2011 requires a minimum 160GB (though you can tweak it).I also wanted a brand new drive with 3 or 5-year warranty as system drive failure is a real pain. Western Digital offer 3-year on their AV drives.However, on receipt I noticed that the manufacture date for this drive is 28th Jan. 2009 - over 4½ years before purchase. It will not register on the WD site and shows as 'Out of Limited Warranty'. The anti-static bag is still sealed but I'm not confident it's a pukka WD-sealed bag - although the drive does look new.I note the invoice says 'On products where no direct manufacturers service exists, Digital Components Ltd will offer 12 month Return To Base warranty...' I checked the DCLstore website (which is very good!) and it reiterates this guarantee.I had thought I'd be getting a solid 3-year guarantee so was disappointed. I'll keep the drive as it's just what I need. A notation on the Amazon listing is required for full honesty, although it does not seem like any deception was intended here. Still, until then, two stars are deducted as the standard WD 3-year guarantee was not repudiated.

Purchased 5 of these for some development servers to run in RAID 1. They work as intended, easy to install, same as every other drive to be honest. But all in all, I thought this was a great deal for under £100. All came in anti-static sleeves and amazon's frustration free packaging which was a great benefit.Would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a reliable and working HDD.

Works fine although obviously it's slower than my other drives as it's only a 2nd gen SATA drive. My drive seems to be unused according to the BIOS and it was unpartitioned. I reckon they are just bulk buying discontinued drives from WD and can sell at a low price. I just use mine for testing data backups as I hammered one of my other drives to death doing this. I got what I expected and am happy :-)

Manufacture date for this drive is 2008, Drive itself worked for 4 days but very noisy against the WD Drive which I removed from the PC .***DRIVE DIED after just 4 days its full of my data so can't even send it back***To be honest I have found the drive a big disappointment Amazon themselves fill the order I really think they should mention you don't get a WD guarantee as the drives are so old. When I buy a so say new item shipped by amazon I expect to receive a item with a full guarantee from the maker. Very Disappointed

Hard drive was made on 5th oct 2008 so it was 9 years old when I got it. Came in an anti static bag e.t.c. but has gone wrong within 3 months just like other hard drives available through amazon / 3rd party sellers recently that were made in the same era I have brought 3 this way and none have survived a year. These have been used for an additional storage drive for data only, no os or bit torrenting e.t.c. Suspect these were some of the ones that have been "re-manufactured" . Have not got the option to return the drive despite being sold as new and should have a standard 1 year warranty on it.Avoid. would give 0 stars if possible. if your computers seamless operation is important get a current current model hard drive and expect to pay around £40 for a hard drive with 500 gb of space and up depending on size.

Dead on arrival. Shipped with loads of reallocated sectors beyond the SMART failure threshold. Won't format. Any attempt to format the disk just results in more reallocated sectors. Manufacture date of 2008 so no manufacturer warranty. These should be in landfill, not for sale as new. Returning for refund.

i mainly brought this item as my c drive failed one day and i got this as a replacement its a nice hard drive boots up ok not the best boot but its about average even though this is full of games and my other 2 hard drives are full of apps and more games haha i would buy this again as its cheap and its made by WD so its always reliable

compre el disco duro para poner en un ordenador basico, mi mala sorpresa fue cuando lo compre y ponía que el disco duro estaba fabricado en el año 2010...., vamos... me parece muchísimo para algo que estas comprando nuevo, seguramente que ni el fabricante se hace cargo de tal en caso de problemas.

Mir wurde noch nie so ein Schrott verkauft. Windows 10 installiert, System lief nicht stabil, noch einmal installiert. Beim Hochfahren des Rechners wurde die Festplatte auf Fehler überprüft und repariert, das ist doch schon sehr fragwürdig. Das sollte ein Rechner für mein Enkelkind sein, also Office 2019 aufspielen, und dann habe ich etwas gewartet, nach der Hälfte des Runterladens blieb der Balken stehen, nach 1. Stunde, nachdem ich den Mauszeiger zur Kontrolle hingestellt hatte, tat sich immer noch nichts. Die Festplatte kommt mir vor, als wenn diese schon 20 Jahre alt wäre, überhaupt keine Geschwindigkeit, beim Öffnen des Esplorers, es ist noch nichts im Ordner, läuft der grüne Balken und sucht. Ich habe nach 2 Tagen die Schnauze voll, ich werde die Festplatte zurückschicken und eine andere holen, aber nicht mehr so einen Müll.

tal y como dice en la descripcion, discu duro hdd ideal para pc de gama bajacon 250gb te quedas falto de espacio rapido, pero si es un pc para un niño o alguienque descargue poco tiene espacio suficnete, lo recmiendo para un pc de bajos recursos barataahora, si quieres montar un pc de gama media baja o gama media o gama alta, ni de broma pongaseste disco duro, tendrias qeu cambiarlo a los 20 minutos de arrancar, recomiendo buscar un SSD si quieres velovidado un HDD de 1TB si quieres almacenamiento, aunque si soy como yo, 1TB se quedara corto jejejedepende de lo que vayais a hacer, si quereis descargar muchos juegos recientes, recomiendo un SSD de 120GB y un HDD de 2 TB o 2 de 1TB cada uno

Yo me buscaría otro. Parece mas un disco de segunda mano reseteado y formateado como uno nuevo y aun que es barato la verdad es que no merece la pena tirar el dinero en el, también llevaba marcas de uso por todas las partes.De mi punto de vista muy malacomprea.I would look for a better drive, seems more like a secondhand drive formatted to look as new and even if is cheap the truth is that I would look for a better deal, also it had marks of usage all over.From my point of view it was a very bad buy.

Die Platte wurde bei mir eingebaut und ein Backup von Windows aufgespielt, was problemlos funktionierte. Die SMART - Infos zeigten, dass die Platte unbenutzt war, auch wenn sie wohl schon etwas älter ist. An alle, die sich darüber beschweren, dass es eine OEM - Platte ist und daher keine Garantie von WD gegeben wird und auch Angst haben, weil sie schon vor mehreren Jahren produziert wurde : Sie haben alle die gesetzlich 2 Jährige Gewährleistung vom Händler. Also, wenn was kaputt geht in den zwei Jahren -> an den Händler wenden.

Das ist mit Abstand das Mieseste, was mir unter der Bezeichnung Festplattejemals untergekommen ist. Jeder Versuch dieses Lw. in's System einzubindenwar ein Schuss in den Ofen. Und das sowohl unter Windows wie auch unterLinux! Dieses Teil wird einfach nicht erkannt, kann somit auch nicht formatiertwerden.Systemabstürze, Bluescreens ohne Ende und nicht einmal mehrZugang zum BIOS. Nach mehreren Tagen habe ich aufgegeben und bei'mVersender reklamiert. Bis jetzt keine Reaktion, aber es sollen ja noch Wundergeschehen...

Lo principal, funciona bien, como cualquier otro. Muy buena opcion para montar un ordenador barato para ofimatica, en el que no se va a almacenar multimedia ni instalar juegos. Ahorras unos euros con los de mayor capacidad. Aprobechando una torre antigua junto con un pentium g, placa h81 y 4gb ram montas por 130 euros un ordenador para navegar, ver videos, editar textos, etc... que rinde muy bien! Jeje

Este disco de WD llegó nuevo y precintado como cualquier otro. La única pega es su rendimiento, bastante malo, e incluso con un equipo recién formateado va lento y le cuesta procesar la información. A pesar de ello, para máquinas viejas, o bien puedes optar por un SSD o uno de estos, que son casi la mitad del precio y funcionan correctamente.

Il disco sarebbe anche un bell'hard disk, a giudicare dalle sue specifiche. A me però è arrivato in una ridicola confezione in cartone (neanche con le "bolle"), proprio come una lettera. Appena connesso al pc che stavo sistemando, mi sono subito accorto che qualcosa non andava (il tot. dei MB era segnato come 0 e il disco continuava a girare a vuoto).Poco dopo ho anche notato che il disco, venduto come nuovo, in realtà era ricondizionato ovvero USATO, con strisci, ecc.L'ho dovuto restituire.Quindi il mio consiglio è di evitare come la morte questo venditore e questi dischi economici che nascondono un trattamento pessimo e oggetti usati, anche se potreste avere fortuna di trovarne uno funzionante.

Pourquoi une étoile en moins ?Surprise lorsque j'ai enfiché mon disque dur dans la Station d'accueil Dual Docking), il n'a pas été reconnu par mon ordinateur sous windows10 (je pensais qu'il était défectueux car en mettant un autre disque dur sur la même station d’accueil celui ci été reconnu.Après un certain temps à faire des recherches, j'ai trouvé ma solution.Dans affichage des taches , aller sur "ce PC" (clic droit:) "Gérer", (clic gauche) gestion des disques ( à ce stade là on doit retrouver tous les disque dur présent sur l'ordinateur) (clic gauche) sur le nom du disque dur rechercher (ne pas ce tromper) il vous propose de le convertir soit en disque "dynamique", ou en disque "gpt".Personnellement je l'aie converti en disque "gpt". l'ordinateur. à fait le nécessaire et tout est revenu correct (j'ai fait un scan avec "CrystalDiskInfo"(gratuit), le disque dur est "correct".Désolé d’être un peut long en commentaire, mais si cela peut en dépanner quelques un, c'est temps mieux.

Semplicemente ho installato l'hard disk e il software Crystal info, così giusto per vedere se tutti i settori erano a posto, vi rimando alla foto, date un occhiata alle oltre 12 mile ore di vita, non so se questa è truffa, ma dovrebbe almeno essere scritto che è stra usato, mi auguro che Amazon, si Amazon, me ne faccia vare un altro nuovo, per varie ed eventuali, Amazon può sempre rifarsi sul venditore.

Erste Festplatte von 2009 und "dead on arrival" .Zweite Festplatte von 2011, funktioniert einwandfrei, keine Fehler beim Surface-Test.Für den Preis, kann man die Festplatte für jeden Mutti-PCmit unwichtigen Daten empfehlen, für alle anderen besser 30€ mehr investieren in eine aktuelle Festplatte ;-)

Das BIOS (SMART) meldet sofort Fehler 1270. Auch Windowsinstaller (Setup) meldet einen bevorstehenden Ausfall. Ich denke, hier wurde mir eine defekte Platte als neu verkauft. Rückabwicklung läuft.

El artículo recibido no es nuevo pero es justo el modelo y marca que esperaba. De momento no me está dando un gran rendimiento pero funciona. Tampoco puedo valorar porque no he probado con ningún otro disco 'nuevo'. Pero, en definitiva, es justo lo que esperabaPD: lo utilicé para reparar un Hdd dañado de un iMac Intel Core 2 Duo

Markenware zum Spot-preis. Die Festplatte läuft anstandslos von der ersten Installation an. Kaum wahrnehmbar in der Geräuschentwicklung. Ist bei mir täglich mehrere Stunden in Gebrauch.Fazit: Sofort wieder.
