The very definition of a thrower
The short answer is- This is a long distance focused beam light. Good for distance or poor weather penetration. The UI is very simple to use with "last setting" memory. It's reasonably durable. The rest of this review is my own incoherent rambling. This light is a classic "thrower". If you live in a rural area, or a location where it rains frequently, that's the ideal workspace for this light. You can step out on your porch and illuminate a coyote 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile away. Don't be fooled by the low lumen, this light has extreme candela output.Sure, your $95 5000 lm light can light up more cubic feet of space with the brightness of the sun for one or two minutes before heat forces it to step down, but this light can throw a beam to the next town without stepping down until the battery dies. This light excels at distance and penetrating poor weather (rain, fog, even blizzard conditions). You wouldn't use this light to work on equipment or inside your home. You could, but there are other lights better suited for that type of close up work. This makes this a bit of niche light. Perfect for checking fences, counting cows (yes, city people, that's a thing), or identifying that shadow you thought you saw move by the machine shed way over yonder. Not perfect for reading a book or working in an engine bay.Personally, I live in town. I have a reasonably sized lawn (front and back). This light is not for that type of space. I have taken it to a friend's in the countryside and that's where it excels. It's rated at only 1800, which the same as a good pocket EDC light. This light puts all 1800 lm on a tree line at the end of a section (across a corn field). I personally have found a creative use for the light. I work in a factory. Factories have overhead light and are reasonably well lit. Our lights are on motion sensors and dim to moonlight after a few minutes of no detected movement. My job is warehousing product. With my eyes adapted to a well lit area, it's hard to find a light that isn't overly large that that is bright enough to shine down inside darkened aisles to read the product numbers stuck on items. It saves me from walking down each row of product. Maintenance (aware I carry this thing) have had me illuminate equipment on the ceiling, and on top of machines for them to inspect from the floor to save themselves 20 minutes of paperwork and fetching a scissor lift. To carry this at work, the light is too big for a pocket so I use a generic flashlight sheath and slide it next to the blower unit on my PAPR.The light doesn't get rained on or dropped in puddles at work, but it does get dropped on concrete and knocked around some. The guarded tail switch has been accidently turned on in the sheath before (if that's in indication of the physical abuse it takes). The head is slightly larger than the top flap on the sheath allowing light to escape the sheath so there's no mistake it's on, saving it from several hours of wasted battery life. It has operated flawlessly for me. With me only using it intermittently, the battery life is exceptional. The tail switch and UI are perfect. Given how I turn it on for a few seconds at a time and then off again, it's nice not to have to cycle through 47 different modes every time. In fact, I wouldn't use it if I had to. Clicks on with one click and clicks off with another. I have had the light so long I can't remember how to access the other functions.

Bright light, extreme quality..
I was expecting a nice light, as I have bought from Wurkkos previously. However, this is a FANTASTIC ...light. This feels really good in your hand, like a well built camera or a set of binoculars, just excellent quality. The area illuminated is very concentrated and very...far reaching, as I can light up a stop sign two blocks away easily. I live in a sketchy area, so this now goes with me EVERY NIGHT...when I walk my dog. For something the length of my cellphone, I have the ability to blind someone with the light, and defend myself with it's tough build. You will LOVE...this defense tool. Highly recommended...

Excellent beam and throw in a quality flashlight
I wanted a flashlight that had a tighter beam at distance than the ones I had, and this seemed to fit the bill. Although it's not the brightest light I have, the tightness of the beam and candela are just about what I wanted and the brightness is certainly plenty for my usage. Throws a tight beam a good distance. Quality is good, the only negative for me is I am not a huge fan of the control method and the way it utilizes the two switches (one at rear, one on the side nearer the front) depending on what you want the light to do, but that is more personal preference than anything. While it isn't as easy to slip in a pocket compared with other flashlights because of the size of the lens area, I actually do sometimes still slip this in a pocket depending on what I have going on at my work. It's not the absolute ideal, but it is doable (while wearing dress/suit pants).Currently this is the only Wurkkos flashlight I own, but I will most likely be buying others from this brand based on my experience with this one. Definitely recommended if you want more of a spotlight style versus a floodlight.

Thrower light.
This is a great light especially for the price point.I’ve been looking for a budget thrower flashlight and have purchased several and none had the powerful spot beam I was looking for.I like the dual switch design although it takes a bit to understand how it functions.I use this light to check the fields for coyotes while I’m walking my dog and the beam really reach’s out and there’s enough spillover to see to still walk. This light is made to reach out so it’s not the best to try to work close up.

Wonderful and Cheap Flashkight
I love this thing. Use it when walking the dog during early morning in the winter before sun rise. Shoots a tight beams a long way and battery life is solid. Use it to spot coyotes, skunks, etc before my dog sees them.

The best value spotlight!
Wow is this thing bright! I can see pretty clearly at about 300 yards out, probably further if I tried. Definitely does what I want it to. Construction seems great. Only had it about a month but I love the thing!!!

CALIDAD!
