Seems to be about 10-11 gauge, easy to work with.
Appears to be about 10-11 gauge. Smaller than I thought it would be. Definitely will not withstand 100lbs of weight pushing against it - my electric went down and one of the goats figured it out and broke a strand. But, it does deliver a shock (which is only as good as your energizer).

Super thin wires
I originally bought my electric fence supplies at tractor supply. Over time, I've had to replace small sections of line. I bought this thinking it was comparable to what I bought at tractor supply, since it was zareba again. I just opened it today and now I'm irritated it's past the return window. I double checked tractor supply and every polywire from there is listed as 24 gauge wire, which is supposed to be around 0.5mm. My pictures show my existing wire(that's been part of the fence for over a year now), measuring at 0.41mm, and this polywire, measuring at 0.14mm! That's only 35 gauge or so! I expect I'll be replacing this replacement very soon.If you're looking for a small project to deal with small animals, I'm sure this would be fine. It's nice and flexible since it's so thin, so it's easy to work with. However, if you're looking to use this wire for larger or more rambunctious animals, go get something else!

Perfect for light use
I enclose my scrubs during the fall & winter from deer.I replaced the wire used for 6 years this year with the same product.I like the color so I and others do not run into it.Never once had a deer problem within the fencing.Maybe it's easier to graze on other things, which they do, than get a sharp bite from the fence. We usually have 6 deer on average each evening in the area.I bought it again and used it this winter.

Lightweight polywire installed on an existing fence
This is a lightweight polywire I installed on a post and rail paddock to discourage my horse from pushing against the rails to reach under the fence and from using the hardware on his sheets/blankets to drop the top rails. Has been in place for 8 months and doing the intended job, no broken rails and horse staying safely in his small rehab paddock.

I like this but well use a variety of wires and tapes along with this item.
For electric deer fence and the occasional bear. Bear killed one peach tree deer another. Last year Deers seemed more agressive than every before and broke the garden barriers that had protected several garden areas and all different materials and fences so surprised after no problem or damage for 6-7 years we figure most the problem was a rogue deer or two. But it finally forced our hand to turn to electric fences. We bought two of the solar systems along with this polywire. The nice thing this wire has going for it is the color is a warning and alerts people to it's purpose we hope. We intend to get some other tags you hang on the wires too just to make it clear to anyone cutting through our acreage that the fences are no touch.

By far the best Polywire out there!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Zareba (and Fi-Shock) products! I have a rotational grazing setup for goats, pigs, and horses. After trying MANY different brands of polywire, Zareba/Fi-shock is the ONLY electric fencing I buy. The conducting wire (the metal part) is braided much tighter than in other brands so it doesn't get caught up on things and broken off as easily. I would give this 5 stars but in this particular order, one of the four spools was about 15 feet short. The other three came within inches of each other, so the fourth must have been a faulty spool or something. I still recommend it and will be purchasing it again myself.

Very Strong and Easy to Install.
I purchased this wire to fence in my Rottweiler in my back yard. I had been using the aluminum wire however it rusted and was breaking in several different areas. The first thing I noticed with this polywire was it is very very strong and can handle pulling really tight. It bends and flexes very easily and does not just break you have to cut it. This is thin and can be seen but does not stand out to much This was a very good buy for me and I will get more as it is very easy to install and splice. I was very happy with this purchase.
