Another solid release from eXtremeRate. It feels great in the hand, gives it the scuffed MadCatz style look of old 90’s knockoff controllers, while still maintaining the full functionality of the OEM controller. Nothing feels cheap about it, and the fit of the buttons feels just as premium as the original. I did end up keeping the original ABXY buttons just because they’re more visible for my kids to look down and see what buttons are what. Whenever a joystick gets damaged or something sticky gets in the controller, I always just order another eXtremeRate kit since I’ll have to disassemble the entire controller to clean it properly anyway. This is my third controller kit from eXtremeRate; 2 for the Xbox Series X and one for the PlayStation 5. If they make a kit for the PS VR2 headset or sense controllers, that will be my next purchase; my son is going to demolish those playing Gorilla Tag.

Love it, Worth it! I love how it turned out looks soo 90s and everything works perfectly! First thing to know is, you must know what generation of ps5 controller you have for example mine is a BDM 030 there are videos on YouTube on how to identify what controller you have, this is crucial because if you get the wrong shell that is ment to fit another model it wont work There are multiple ways to find what model controller you habe but a easy way is by looking at the numbers behind your ps5 controller look up a video on YouTube,,,,,after you know what model controller you have it's easy to just look at videos online by searching how to tear down ps5 (in my case) BDM 030 controller or the model you have and follow it, i recommend seeing different videos get second and third opinions if they are not specific on a part you are stuck on but overall it wasn't rocket science but you do need to take your time so everything is done correctly

I got the maple impact shells and it was pretty good. Only issue is my left trigger sometimes has some friction that’s noticeable when I press down. I installed it all correctly and made sure it was all functioning properly before closing up the controller. It only happens every so often but it’s kind of annoying when I feel it. Another small issue I have is how do I take off the little caps. What if I need to get back into the controller? Idk how to take out the clips that go on the bottoms of the handles to get access to the screws..

Bought 2 they are great. All my controllers are bdm 050. New. Have six. 5 plus original . So the posts on the backside of the shell needed to be removed so the shell would close properly. I used heavy duty toe nail clippers to clip the posts out. Not sure where this issue originated. But I made it work. Have 2 more I plan on reshelling now I know.

Looks really cool. The redesigned shells dont line up as well as the original and the handles dont screw together to keep it ight since there are no screw holes on the redesign. Im not going to take it all back apart now that its together, but If I were to do it different I would get the original style again. I put a picture of the first one I did with original shell design for reference. That one is perfect. Both by Extreme Rate.

Very high quality plastic, it feels great to hold. Easy to install if you watch their guide. The color is really nice and the price is perfect for what you get.

Shell will not allow thumb sticks to operate correctly, it binds them so they have too much friction and will not return to center on their own. Highly recommend avoiding and wasting your time as I did, and just buy a new controller if you need to replace your shell.

Does exactly what it says, basically gave my son a new controller after a dog got a hold of it and this saved me 50 dollars and it looks great, Feels better that the original in the hand no slipping at all.

Todo muy bien ,material de bastante calidad,lo más difícil montarlo sobretodo L2 y R2 .El vídeo tutorial deberían meterlo en papel con código QR o algo así para que la gente no se vuelva loca buscándolo ,pero bueno estoy contento con el resultado

Great shell. I had a few issues putting it together although it was just user error. If i was to buy another shell it would for sure be from extremerate.

The main shell is fine, but the sticks are junk. They pick up dirt immediately, and there no height adjustment, so you need to buy another set of sticks if you want that.

Bij m'n ps5 controller was er een trigger drukknop defect. Op de site een volledige vervangbehuizing besteld, die volgens beschrijving zou passen op het Bdm 050 (versie 5) model. Spijtig genoeg was dit niet het geval, enkel onderzijde en gelukkig ook de drukknoppen pasten . Beetje teleurgesteld dat de controller niet volledig kon omgebouwd worden . Voor de rest degelijk. Daarom maar 2 sterren.
