People complain the smell is bad, I rather like it. Not manly at all, people say your hair smell good when I get a hug. Who doesn’t want to hear that 😁

What a Great Gel!! Mixed Chicks doesn't disappoint. Curls are defined and lots of volume. Highly recommend!

Works great if you don't mind smelling like you put on mens cologne

This product is amazing, but it may not be perfect for everyone. If you’re opposed to stronger smells, you won’t like this product. It reminds me of a men’s Cologne almost but it smells good to me. Nothing old fashioned! LOL! It does an amazing job of locking in moisture but is not moisturizing itself. You need to put moisturizing products on your hair and use this to lock them in. Will do so very well for days! It does leave a cast, so again, if that’s something you don’t like. What I love most about this product is it pairs well with any other product I use it with…different leave ins, different curl creams, different puddings…it works with all of them! I absolutely love it!

I love this gel. Ever since I first tried the mixed chicks line, this product was a standout and it is the main product from their line that I keep constantly in stock. It works well in defining each curl and has a great hold. However, the last few times I have ordered from Amazon, the fragrance of the product is too much. As another reviewer mentioned, “smells too much like a man”, and I 1000% agree.Today I received the order and I didn’t even have to open the package to smell that these bottles were the same batch that has too much fragrance. I’m writing this review in the kohls parking lot, about to return these over-fragranced bottles and purchase it elsewhere.Update 6/13/22: It appears they have changed the fragrance on this product :(I ordered it from another retailer, same issue. I went on the mixed chicks website to order it directly from there, and the reviews mention the change in fragrance. I do love the effect this product has on my hair, but I can’t deal with the smell. Currently on the search for a replacement.

I'm really conflicted about this product. There must be some ingredient in there that has an unpleasant odor they are trying to cover. I just wish they'd use a less 'male' scent. It would be OK if the smell went away but it really doesn't. The product works great and really gives a nice gel cast which easy breaks while the curls still hold. I just can't seem to get used to smelling like mens aftershave so I'm on the hunt for another similar product.

Love it. First time trying mixed chicks products, i was looking for a better styling gel and I’ve heard so much about the brand i decided to give it a try since it was pretty affordable. Smells great, does leave it a LITTLE hardened, but nothing a little oil/scrunching cant fix, and it definitely does not flake like a regular gel would with so much hold, so i must say i liked that, and you don't need much at all, probably the first product I’ve ever used that i actually only needed a quarter size amount lol. Worked best for me when applied with damp/wet hair to avoid the frizz.

Great product for very curly hair. Expensive online but came fast

Bit of a small bottle but it worked for my hair. Not mixed race but my hair texture can't handle eco styler. Doesn't leave flakes and doesn't make hair hard.

Light hold with a soft nature finish. You can air dry your curls without getting the crunchy wet look. It is my ‘go to’ product!

I bought this hoping it would live up to its claims of not flaking but I used this with another mixed chick product and within an hour there were flakes everywhere in my hair! I do not recommend!!
