Searched far and wide for an alternative to Columbia Silver Ridge convertible as they just don't hold up and are way too pricey. The alternatives on Amazon all have the goofy China sizing that never seems to translate to the actual fit. These were advertised as 36"waist and 32" inseam and were DEAD ON.. Fit just like my good ole Wrangler jeans. Nice clasp, decent belt (slightly more robust than usual) and the material a hair thicker than Columbia but so far much more abrasion resistant. About same breathability and not a lot of stretch but enough to enhance comfort. Good buy, wish they had more color choices.

Love the design features and fit of these pants. the expandable waist makes a huge difference. the belt design is great too. I'm a bit concerned with the quality (particularly the belt buckle) . Time will tell how these hold up.

Have had several sets for over 2 years, and wear daily. They are propylene, so don't get them too hot. And, they will bleach, so be a little careful!But, they are light, look good with the legs on or off, and fold up small. Love that they dry very quickly. Have now purchased several more pair in tan, black, and gray to continue as a daily-wear pant.

I've been looking for quite some time for a pair of convertible pants for my trip to the Galapagos Islands. It mixes both wet environment and dry and humid on the islands and chilly nights on the mainland. These are about the best ones I've seen and I recommend them. Notably they have elastic waist which I think most men really need unless you're athletically trim and fit and it has the right pockets in the right places with the right enclosures. Compare this to the Columbia pants that I looked at and purchased at a retail store and I think the ones here are actually the better buy. I wear a 33x32... sized up to a 34, they are just about right with good give in waist, butt, crotch and thighs for men. If you're super trim, size down. Belt is a real nice bonus. Cheers.

I bought these as a successor to my Columbia Silver Ridge trousers, which I wear while traveling. These are mostly solid adventure trousers, with two flaws: 1. They run long. Take that into consideration when you order. 2. The zippers on the side pockets snag on the cloth. This is the more serious flaw, because when you're sealing up a passport or a cellphone, you want to to be able to zip that pocket closed swiftly, and with one hand. But I find I have to stop to unsnag the zipper and then use two hands to rezip. Also, I wrote to the seller about the length issue and received no reply at all, so don't expect any attention at all from this seller if you have problems.

I purchased these for a trip to Europe where the temperature was going to vary between mildy cold and very hot. They wear well and met my size expectation. Removing the legs was easy as was putting them back on. They were rain proof and yet not hot in the sun. Really pleased with these and will be buying another pair in the future.

For years I’ve been using convertible hiking pants as my go to casual clothing. I’ve was using another brand here on Amazon but when the time came to replace a pair I found they are no longer offered. Amazon recommended these and so I went ahead.Initially I was impressed with these. They look closer to khaki slacks at the then tactical hiking pants (no big pockets on legs, no loops for climbing equipment, etc). So they appear acceptable in more situations. I liked them so much I replaced all my aging pants from other brands. That’s where my positive comments end.The fabric is supposed to be quick drying and breathable. It is not. It feels more plastic like (it is plastic) rather than a cloth blend. It does not get wet easily since the water stays on top (they are semi-resistant) However, When it gets wet it stays wet for several hours.The plastic feel also makes you sweat more than other brands.My big complaint is that the fabric is a stain magnet. I use these for every day life. Nothing to extreme but accidents do happen. When these get a spot on them, which seems almost every time I wear them, it takes a real effort to get out if you even can. A simple juice stain from my baby niece ruined a whole pair of pants despite using stain remover and hand scrubbing. Over the year I’ve bought 7 pairs and none lasted more than six months.I’m done.
