Good repeat cutter for angle grinder
As I looked at the ad for this angle grinder cutting support, I could not see much clarity on how it was assembled and how it held the grinder. Also, I found the instructions less than clear and fairly tedious. For that reason, I took quite a few pictures that I hope a purchaser may be able to use to more easily see how things fit together. Somewhat unintuitive is the idea, very true here, that the screws that hold the grinder in place, and also the clamp screws that press against the grinder to hold it straight for cutting will fall out of their places if the grinder is not attached. Also, the screw and nut that hold the debris shield in place easily fall out of their slot if the screw is loose. On most products, one expects things to hold together without all parts being in place, but these are simplifications that don't harm performance, although they do save manufacturing costs. A simple sequence of assembly is to attach the support to the stand, leaving the screws a little loose, then attach the arms that connect to the grinder, again leaving the screws loose so the arms can slide to fit the grinder. Push the plastic ends on the two clamp screws, spin on their nuts, and push the clamp screws into place, ready to push against the installed grinder. Use suitable sized screws to attach the grinder, properly oriented, to proper tightness on the holding arms, center the grinder to align with the push clamps, and tighten the bolts that attach the holding arms. Next, use the push clamps to straighten the grinder and the screws that hold the support, moving things until the grinder cutter wheel is aligned over the cutting slot in the base, and tighten those parts in place. Finally, moves the debris guard to its best position, with the bend in the guard support arm turned upward, and tighten the guard support arm in place. If the guard does not line up well with the cutting wheel, I have found that a crescent wrench and a steel bar for prying is one way to lightly bend the support arm to better align the guard with the cutting wheel. I think this covers my assembling experiences pretty well. This stand is lightly made, but the aluminum structure is quite sturdy. The iron base is quite heavy and stable. The clamp rises only a short distance, but it can be uses to hold larger items in a consistent orientation, and it moves forward and backward to enable better alignment with the cutter blade. The design of this stand is interestingly a fine balance between performance and simplicity, but it holds steady, performing well. Both the moderate weight of the stand and the structure of the cutting disk suggest applying moderate pressure to cuts in tough materials. The stand will probably take pretty high pressure, but the cutting wheel and the grinder could be the first to suffer from high pressure use. I find this stand to be useful, durable, well and efficiently designed, and far more useful than holding the grinder by hand for making consistently angled cuts.

Seems OK for what it is
For the price this will make cutting small metal items safer and more convenient. The machine is pretty well made and feels substantial. The base is cast iron, the top is cast aluminum. The assembly instructions are poor but with a little common sense you can get it done. Adjustments and assembly require 3 different allen wrenches (cheap versions included) and at least 3 different size hex nuts and bolts (wrenches not included). I attached the allen wrenches to the base with a magnet because you need them to tweak the alignment, move the fence and remove the shield for wheel changes. I thought the washers for the bolts that mount the router support arms were insufficient and I wound up grinding opposite sides off better washers to fit in the slotted holes. Comes with a couple of different bolt sizes to mount the grinder and my DeWalt grinder fit right in. The bolts through the arm that press on the grinder and provide rotational adjustment are a little hookey too and even came loose while cutting. I'll probably have to add lock nuts to fix that (couldn't find the right ones tonight). Getting the thing adjusted was a chore (about 45 minutes). It took a little experimenting to figure out the best adjustment sequence. The instructions are non-existent for that. It did cut pretty true afterwards though. I highly recommend attaching it to your workbench because it will move around on you if you don't. The base includes 2 holes for that purpose, I used a single C clamp that fit in the front depression and that seemed like enough but maybe I will eventually mount it on a piece of plywood. The fence is OK but not great. The grinder hits the fence when the fence is in the right hand slot and that limits the width of the material you can cut. I did buy this model as opposed to a cheaper alternative because it has 2 fence slots and I had read about this issue in other reviews. You can move the fence to the left slot and I think the grinder will then not contact the fence (didn't try that yet). But the left hand slot does not capture the nuts used to lock the fence down so it will be a little awkward to adjust. Also the left slot is not as long. Because it is so difficult to align you will not want to remove the grinder very often so having a second grinder to clean up welds and debur with is pretty much a requirement. Bottom line is it's not a chop saw but will do the job for small items and for about $25 delivered doesn't break the tool budget.

Solid build, but terrible instructions and frustrating assembly
The product arrived on time and in the manufacturer’s box. The box itself was a bit damaged, but everything inside was intact. When I opened it, I found a large number of loose parts—nuts, bolts, washers—packed separately, and one Allen screw was already loose outside the bag, which made me worry something might be missing. Assembly was honestly the worst part. The instructions were a single sheet of paper, basically a photocopy, with very low-quality exploded diagrams and poorly written English. They were almost impossible to follow. I ended up assembling everything using common sense, which was not easy. Once I got through that (and congratulated myself for surviving the process), I tested it with my angle grinder. It works well. After making a few adjustments for cutting precision (which, again, are not explained anywhere), it performs as expected. The build quality is actually good: the cast parts feel solid, the welds are decent, and the paint finish is nice. It looks sturdy and holds the grinder firmly, allowing for clean cuts. One downside: the blade guard is made of cheap plastic and feels more decorative than protective. Overall, if you can get past the difficult assembly and poor instructions, it’s a good and sturdy product.

Surprisingly high quality
Very sturdy, well-designed and well-made tool. Solid cast base, stable pivot with no play, solid holder for grinder and workpiece. Given the price, I expected the build quality to be poor - paint missing, threaded parts not fitting too well, lightweight metal, etc. But the workmanship on the tool was very good and everything fit together quickly and easily. Instructions could have been a little clearer: the top/bottom adjusting screws need to have plastic caps pressed or hammered on before installing (see pictures). One cap is flat, one is angled and better for lower adjuster with my grinder.

Good item for the money
This is a solid stand, sturdy metal base and arm, fits cheap HF grinder and does the job, given the size of the grinder and disk the use is limited to small diameter parts, probably an inch thick or so, but once you square the grinder you can easily get nice cuts, With a stady hand you can probably do without this but for the price its not a bad tool to have. get a cheap dedicated grinder for it as otherwise you'll spend more time adjusting the position of the blade that cutting without this holder.________++++

Just doesn’t work
I spent about 45 min to an hour setting this up carefully, making sure everything was mounted straight and true. After that I spent about two hours trying to set up two cuts, one 90 degrees and one 45. I eventually got the 90 to work out okay, but it would cut through (the collar of my black and decker grinder hit the clamp and wouldn’t go any further), so I had to flip the one inch square tube over to finish the cut. I probably could have made almost as good a cut freehand in about 1/10 the time. The 45 degree cut wouldn’t work at all. The clamp mechanism just wouldn’t allow the grinder to go more than ¼ way though the piece and the clamp kept shifting no matter what I did Additionally, there is a fair amount of play side to side in the arm holding the grinder. The vibration of the grinder quickly loosens the bolts on the clamp. The guard is made of plastic and doesn’t fit around the grinder, ie. It is of no use as a safety feature This tool is a good idea, but it just doesn’t work.

Great little tool, great cuts
Makes perfect black pipe and PVC cuts once you get it dialed in. The order was missing a couple parts when I received it. The box arrived in tattered pieces so I'm not sure if they were missing originally, or got lost in transit. Either way, I contacted the seller and they went beyond what I expected to make it right. Note that the assembly instructions are actually pretty bad, but the actual device and it's components are pretty solid. I ended up just using the Amazon picture to assemble it.

A challenge to set up but worked for my needs.
I occasionally need to cut metal pipe or tubing at very precise angles. My 14" steel blade chop saw makes quick work of cutting metal but it is not as precise as I need. So I got this YaeTek angle grinder stand to see if I could improve my precision. The short answer is YES, you can get some pretty precise cuts using this stand. But there are some challenges as well. The biggest of these challenges is getting your angle grinder mounted so the blade is absolutely perpendicular to the top of the base and well as absolutely parallel with the sides of the base and then at the correct angle to the guide fence. This involves bolting the plunger arm to the base, mounting the angle grinder to the plunger arm and then using the two provided alignment screws to position the cutting blade exactly where you want it. It does involve a good deal of trial and error as well as a lot of patience to get it all lined up. Then comes even more frustration once you start up your angle grinder because the vibration of the grinder can work one or more of these nuts/bolts loose and things can go out of alignment in a big hurry. So don't expect to have things running smoothly right out of the box. And use a bit of extra torque when you do your final bit of tightening. I would also advise using a separate shut off switch apart from the one on your angle grinder. If you look close at the first photo you can see that the grinder shut off switch is quite hard to get at once the grinder is mounted. As shown in the same photo I used a simple timer switch (the black box near the top of the photo) which has an on/off control and you don't need to do any cutting of your plug wiring to create a remote switch. Just leave your grinder switch in the on position at all times and plug it into the timer switch to turn on/off power to the unit. The second photo shows how I make my cuts using an end stop...a flat piece of metal clamped to the side of the base. The pipe/tube is held in place by the fence guide (but not clamped solid) and then I roll the tube as I make a small groove all the way around the pipe by bringing the blade into light contact with the pipe. I then continue to roll the pipe while cutting slightly deeper with each rotation of the pipe. This actually takes less time than it might sound and produces precise, small rings of tubing as shown in the third photo. I am using these particular rings as bearing mounts inside a DIY go kart transmission. Bottom line...you can achieve some pretty precise metal cuts using this grinder stand but be prepared to spend some time getting it set up properly. For me and my particular needs the investment in the stand was well worth it in terms of the precision I was able to achieve. Took off one star due to the difficulty of getting things into precise alignment.

Waste of money
The entire design is bad. Butter to buy a normal steel miter as its design to cut steel in a good and safe manner.
