Product description Martial arts and other contact sports can cause blood clots (auricular hematoma) to form in the ear. If left untreated, these blood clots form fibrous new cartilage and create a permanent cauliflower ear. Draining these clots and then applying compression with Earies magnets can prevent cauliflower ear from forming altogether! We tested dozens of magnets and silicone thicknesses to find just the right balance of pressure, size, and simple design. A strap ensures the magnets won't become lost or separated, and a compact plastic case helps keep them separate from your other gear. Directions 1. Clean the affected ear area. 2. Place the Earies magnets on the affected area. 3. Secure the magnets with the provided strap. 4. Keep the magnets in place for the recommended duration to promote healing and prevent cauliflower ear.

Yes, this one will work but we also ordered a cheaper kit that came with about 3/4 magnets and they're all so much stronger. So, I suppose it does work but you can get a lot more for your money going for some of the magnet kits that are the similar prices, some cheaper some higher.

The design of these is pretty nice so that it doesn't look super weird when you're walking around for weeks with the magnets. They are also pretty comfortable and the perfect size. At times (after drainage) my husbands ear would hurt, so we just added a bit of cushioning by altering with gauze. Overall, we're so thankful for this product in helping my husband NOT get cauliflower ear! Great value, function and protect the ear!

**Q: Can I shower with these on?**
A: Yep! Earies are completely waterproof and washable.

**Q: Ive been wearing this for a day now, is it normal for the area to still fill up with fluid?**
A: Depends—was the area drained before wearing Earies? If you have previous cauliflower ear damage in that area, the thicker tissue can reduce the magnets' effectiveness. Increased blood flow from strenuous exercise can also cause the area to refill with fluid—try to avoid that kind of activity for a few days.

Although this is just one magnet it is only as powerful or slightly less then some of the cheaper magnets that come together in box sets. Yes, this one will work but we also ordered a cheaper kit that came with about 3/4 magnets and they're all so much stronger. So, I suppose it does work but you can get a lot more for your money going for some of the magnet kits that are the similar prices, some cheaper some higher.
