A book that truly lives up to and surpasses its title - a very neat and practical introduction to the subject. It summarises the failings of budgeting and associated management mindset, without laying it on thick. And it introduces just enough key systems thinking concepts in a very practical way to make the understanding of 'Beyond Budgeting' strong and effective. For those taking the first steps, intrigued by the subject, or convinced there has to be a better way - this should be your first port of call!

A great "little" book about the Beyond Budgeting method.
Excellent introduction to the principles of Beyond Budgeting. The book is short (took me just two hours to read it) but still comprehensive. It is less based on examples from selected companies (success stories) but focuses more on the general problems and underlying principles/ solutions that the Beyond Budgeting method offers e.g. the chapter about the law of requisite variety.

You need a magnifying glass
Who did the terrible book design?This book is only four inches wide and the book designer elected a two column layout. A one column design using a larger type font would have signficantly improved its readability.When your publication doesn't have the clarity of the Wall Street Journal or New York Times, you're in trouble.
