Not sure, I added weight to lower it in the water column.

Should these be trolled topwater ?? If not at what depth is ideal?

Yes these are top water trolling lures. They go under the water and running will pop to the surface creating a large smoker bubble trail and then go under the surface again. Runs just below the surface when under water. These are really good lures. Worth much more than the price asked. I love mine!!

I don't have a boat can i used this lure by the beach ??

These are trolling lures, they are specifically designed to troll behind a boat. Not made for casting nor fishing from shore. Possible but not a good idea...just buy a wind cheater!
