Choc/PB Delight are the best...
These are a staple in our house of one diabetic and one trying to lose weight. We do the subscribe and save here on amazon, and chocolate peanut butter delight seems to be the flavor we like the best. One unfortunate thing, as pointed out in another review, is that there isn't a mixed "sampler" box that could include 2 or so of each to try. We bought an entire box of the apple and they were really not good to us. If that was the only flavor someone ever tried, I could see a one star review. We had tried the chocolate delight and the peanut delight from our local Walgreens after reading about them online...both were good, but much more expensive there and only 5 in a box...and they only had those two flavors. So we ordered a box of the choc pb delight and the apple...we have been ordering 1 or 2 boxes a month of the choc pb delight for over a year. Wonderful for bedtime, as my DH struggles with high fasting BG readings when he sleeps too long, or for snacks [dips in his BG when he goes too long without eating]. We both use them as a quick and easy breakfast when we have no time to make something. Decent protein amount and not much sugar, so no crash like with some high carb bars. I would love an almond flavor...maybe toffee almond? Maybe an oatmeal banana...? Anyhow. These are awesome, just need a sampler box.

Great for Diabetic Dawn Phenomenon!
These have greatly helped my husband combat Dawn Phenomenon--which in diabetics is a significant spike in blood sugar that occurs overnight, when the liver releases stored sugar, as it does in some people, apparently mistaking a fast while sleeping as a period of starvation. My husband's blood sugar numbers had been consistently in normal range from the time he ate breakfast until the time he'd gone to bed, but upon waking every morning had been much higher than they should have been, and wouldn't start dropping into a normal range until he'd eaten a high protein breakfast. Now, when consuming one of these bars right before going to bed, his blood sugar remains at a good level and does not spike higher than it should overnight. The stress hormone Cortisol plays a role in triggering blood sugar spikes while sleeping also, so he takes a Holy Basil capsule or two, to keep his Cortisol in check, too. This combination has worked wonders to help him control his blood sugar. He often takes 2 Tablespoons of organic apple cider vinegar in a full glas of water in the evening to help counter any carbs in his evening meal, and puts cinnamon in a cup of green tea in the evening. He'd previously been on the type 2 diabetes medicine of time-released Glipizide, which had caused him to gain more than 30 lbs., even though his routine diet had been a consistently low-carb one, and he'd experienced almost nonstop blood sugar spikes and crashes the entire time he'd been taking it. Since going off the diabetes medicine several weeks ago, however, he's already lost almost 25 lbs of the weight he'd gained while taking Glipizide, and his blood sugar levels have improved dramatically! These Extend Bars had resolved the final missing link of keeping his blood sugar at a normal level overnight, so it would no longer spike while he was asleep and be elevated until he had breakfast. Great product! It works! If you are looking for a super-tasty high protein candy bar or meal replacement bar, you may want to look for something else, but if you're a diabetic having concerns about either high blood sugar spikes or hypoglycemic blood sugar crashes while sleeping, I would definitely recommend giving these a try!

They Really Work!
A few months ago, at age 62, I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes. My doctor suggested that in order to get a handle on the problem, I needed to start testing my blood sugar levels on a daily basis so I could discover which foods my body likes ... and, more importantly ... the foods my body doesn't like. As it turns out, I'm extremely carb sensitive and have started eating a low-carb diet. It has made an incredible difference in my numbers and weight, and I'm now well within the good range, except when it comes to my fasting blood sugar numbers. They were still very high. I did a lot of research and it was suggested that I try eating a snack prior to bedtime, a snack that combined some carbohydrate with protein. I tried a number of different food combinations, and although some of them did bring down my fasting numbers to some degree, none of them got the blood sugar levels to the target range I needed. I was getting really worried because from what I was reading, it appeared that the fasting number was the most critical and if it remained high, even if my other after meal numbers were excellent, I would probably need to go on medication at some point in order to bring them down. I was freaking out over this until I came across a blog that discussed the ExtendBar and it's ability to lower the critical fasting numbers. About 90% of the individuals who had tried these bars had incredible success. I, therefore, decided to give them a try and I am so glad that I did. The drop in my fasting numbers was immediate and has continued to be well within the optimum range ever since. My only negative comment, and this is only slight, is that the taste leaves something to be desired. I must say, however, that I haven't tried all of the choices and will continue to experiment until I hopefully find a flavor I like. Having said that, they are definitely more than edible and their ability to lower my numbers will mean that I will continue to purchase these bars and incorporate them into my regular diet no matter what. So, in closing, if you are having difficulty getting your numbers to the levels you need, you definitely should purchase these bars and give them a try. It can't hurt if you do, but it can certainly hurt if you don't.

Very Delicious and taste like real chocolate!
Absolutely delicious and amazing and I love them! So are they SNAP eligible or not because when I ordered them it said they were and I want to buy them again and now it's saying it's not?

Protein bars not very flavorful
I bought the protein bars for work when I get hungry. These vars did not taste good at all. Very disappointed in this product. Guess you win some and lose some. I would not repurchase these again.

Diabetics Beware
These are advertised as great for diabetes. I ordered them and unfortunately learned, one of the ingredients interferes with my diabetic medicine.. It is my fault for trusting the advertising.. it sucks that I can't return them. Buyer beware!!
