Good stuff!
This is pretty good- but we usually buy the cracked freekeh in our household.. I didn't like the whole grain as much simply because it lacks a little texture for my tastes and that it takes longer to cook, but it still has very nice flavor and I prefer this over Quinoa.. trying to keep away from pastas and rice can be rough, but freekeh is awesome to replace those with- get the carbs you crave while taking in much more protein and fiber.. If you're new to Freekeh, I suggest trying the cracked version first as it is much like brown rice with more texture.. then work up to whole grain. Very yummy stuff. Try it with blackbeans! :) Excellent quality!

good option for diabetic people.
I liked the product. The weird smell of cooked FREEKEY is awful. But rinsing several times helps a little to make it eatable. I don't know in doing so I am letting go of the nutritious components. Do let me know if there is any other way to preserve nutritious components and get rid of that yukee smell!

Healthy Substitute For Rice Or Alternative To Quinoa
I have purchased Freekeh many times before, and it has always been shorter grain. I cannot find it at my local supermarket or Costco anymore (I don't know why) so I ordered it from Yankee Traders. I like Freekeh because it is a great healthy substitute for rice, but has the same consistency, so when I make recipes that call for rice (like Jambalaya), I can substitute the Freekeh. I have used this in several recipes now, and I am not really happy with the consistency. I think that the long grains make it difficult to soften, and as such my recipes came out crunchy. I used the rice cooker (which is how I always cook my Quinoa and Freekeh), and I noted that this Freekeh takes a lot longer to cook. I don't dislike it; I just don't want it to be crunchy. Overall, not my favorite, but a lot better than rice.

Good Quality -- Needs Instructions
Good quality, Price is a little high, but they should have some cooking instructions and some traditional recipies.

Low Carbs! Very Filling!
This whole grain delight is quite tasty and has very few carbs, which is a definite plus. One suggestion: Cook a little longer than the suggested time unless you like to have this whole grain very firm. It's a winner in the quest for delicious low carb foods.

Don't buy this
Don't buy this because it is really no healthier than wheat berries or quinoa and costs a lot more.I liked the taste and texture, but it's definitely not worth the price. Also, the lower carb info is a bit of a marketing ploy.Freekah actually has 26 grams of carbs. My package said it only had one gram.Compare it to quinoa, which has the same amount of protein (8 grams) and 39 grams of carbs. If you are counting every carb, this may make a big difference; however, you might want to try wheat berries as half a cup has 29 grams of carbs and 6 grams of protein, with an almost identical taste and texture.
