Goofy And Adorable
Pros:-These are silly but neat.-You get a train, play food, and a robot!-Great for building hand/eye coordination.-Comes with the toy screwdriver necessary to make the conversions.Cons:-A lot of parts that might tucker a kid out before they can even complete it. (Sounds great but isn't.)Final thoughts:Affordable, goofy, adorable. Plastic quality's pretty good with no stress marks or discoloration. Paint/tampographs are high quality and vibrant. Just a lot of screws and parts. I mean, it's great for a good 30-60 minutes or so, but kids will feel the burnout after a while. Again, there are a *lot* of screws and configurations, all requiring putting them together, pulling them apart, etc.Still, a fun little toy. (Even for the kid at heart.)

No where did it say build from parts (Assembly 100% required)
When I got this I was very surprised that it was in pieces and you have to put together yourself with big plastic screws. I'm defiantly not against that and the assembly was pretty easy, but advertise it as such. And to "transform" it, you have to unscrew parts of it, and screw it back together again; so not really a transformer. So it was not what I expected, but my son did have fun screwing it together, and it was a little bit of a "STEM" project. There were plenty of extra screws. And the "robot" uses more of the longer screws, which the train mode uses more of the shorter screws, so you'll don't want to lose the extras screws. My son did lose the cake piece withing the first 15 min.

Not a true transformer
Although this product is called a transformer toy, it doesn't transform, and it's not a transformer to how we would've assumed it to be. It's not like the traditional transformers we're used to, like the decepticons and autobots. You're just able to convert the train set into a robot by changing the configuration, but there's no folding or pulling/manipulating parts in a certain way to change back and forth from one thing to another.Other than that, my 3 year old son was able to assemble the entire train set by himself while I guided him. The provided screwdriver was thick and large enough for his small hands to handle, and the large parts and screws also helped as well to make things easy for him. The only thing he needed help with, was to snap the trains together, as that took a bit more strength than what a kid could do. My son absolutely loves anything train related, and he fell in love playing with this train set. The top of some of the trains is configured with 4 circular dots resembling legos, and my kids are able to stick their big lego pieces and toys onto them.

Good idea.
And decent execution. Definitely challenging enough for a kid of five or six and a breeze for a child older. Not that it's bad that it's easy for an older child, especially if it's a kid who self-esteemer trying to build because they'll feel really accomplished at the end of this. Instructions are pretty easy for kids to follow and all the pieces are here. And then there's definitely a lot of playability once it's all put together.

Cute Toy
Overall, this is a cute toy. It’s a little more complicated to put together than I would like. But we’ll just have to spend more time together and it’ll still be fun.

I’m not sure they know what a transformer is.
Wow this train set claimed to be a transforming train to robot with auto bot style transformation was more obey cheap plastic set of train cars with some plug-in connectors that could make it into vaguely a robot shape. Now I’m aware that there are plenty of transformers imitators out there But this one was really really bad.

My 11 year old son enjoys this set.
This toy set doesn't fold to transform, you have to pull it apart and reassemble it. My 11 year old son enjoys playing with it. Would not reccomend for very young children.

some (perpetual) assembly required
I question the age range for this. It looks like Duplo, and is compatible with Duplo blocks to a degree, but transforming it from train to robot requires removing various plastic screws and replacing them to screw things together in new ways. There are three different sizes of screws as well. I think that the Duplo aspect of this is targeting an age that is too young to handle screwing and unscrewing, whereas the kids old enough to handle that may be turned off by the Duplo-ness.I was not expecting to have to assemble so much of it, screwing on wheels and so forth, before it could be transformed. Though if I only had to do that once that would be okay; that you have to unscrew and re-screw things to transform it is a pain. Some of the pieces do not snap together very well, and I can't quite figure out why.
