Review: Must buy - Who doesnโt like experimenting My kids loved this Very interesting Many hours of fun Easy to assemble Affordable Size is decent for 2 ppl Ofcourse educational And fun Fully functional Review: Fun STEM kit - Really high quality and unique VR STEM kit. My kids never used VR before, so they had a lot of fun with this kit. The kit uses AR and VR. Comes with a very sturdy high quality cardboard VR Goggle frame, only issue is my phone is too long for it (my phone is 7 inches long). It was fun and easy to use the VR/AR, just needed to download an app, only complaint is that app was 2 GB which is pretty big for an app! Anyway, the science experiments are pretty basic but paired with some of the STEM concepts bill nye is teaching through them and the AR, they become more interesting to kids. I think the experiments themselves are very simple and could be done with household items, so if you buy this kit, you are mostly paying for the VR experience and the Bill nye part .

Classic, but doesn't hold interest
Parents and grandparents will recognize these classic Science Fair activities. They're classics. But you want to know about the VR feature. - Install an app on your phone (iOS or Android). - Use the app to scan pages in the manual. - If the page has a "Scan Me" spot on it, scan the page using the app. (Don't think scanning the "Scan Me" dot is the trick.) - You will see yellow outlined boxes. Center upon one and you hear narration and an animation of the activity. (Augmented Reality, similar to what happens when the Pokemon Go app recognizes an object.) - You will see red outlined boxes. Put the phone in the cardboard viewer (you get a few seconds). A video of the task and expected result plays. Grandparents will recognize the ViewMaster nature of the 3D effect, except that there is a 360 degree view of the area. (Virtual Reality) - With the app in Auto mode, you are notified when add or remove the cardboard viewer. This is referred to as "Mixed Reality (AR+VR)". You get classic science experiments and self-paced instruction. You would like to think that you could leave the kid alone with this kit and they'd have fun for hours. Maybe. Aligning the app with the objects on the page is a little frustrating. Frustration is a leading cause of task abandonment. It's going to depend upon a child's willingness to debug the process while learning the science.

Fun for adults to do with kids, and regress a little!
This is a ton of fun for kids in the six to ten year old age range, maybe a little older. I played with this with my friend and her granddaughter, and we all had fun. The granddaughter is 8, so thatโs where Iโm guessing on the age range. It was her first introduction to Bill Nye the science guy, and I think it was a great introduction to science as cool.

Lots Of Fun With Science!
This just arrived today and my little ones could not wait to open it up and try it out. I grew up watching Bill Nye as a kid and I learned so much from the show. I'm glad that science experiments are still being made by him. It includes several different science experiments that I can do with them and an easy to follow booklet, to guide us through the experiments. It has virtual reality goggles that we had to assemble. It is made of thick cardboard. We have to download the app in order to use the virtual reality feature. So far, we are having a lot of fun with this kit. This is great for school or just summer activities.

Fun and educational
This set has a great instruction book, much sturdier than most, and most of the things you'll need to complete the experiments -- though we scampered all over the house looking for tape the first time we tried one. Best plan: look through the book before you gather the kids and make sure you have all the gear you need. There's a nice variety of experiments. The instructions are clear. I had a good time with my grandchildren trying out the experiments. The packaging makes it feel like a gift, too.

Nice gift to give to kids
I was really disappointed to see the condition in which it arrived, as this was intended to be a present for a friend's children. The contents inside were minorly impacted (booklet was bent in a few places) but the other materials were okay. It is easy to set up and of course, who doesn't love Bill Nye?! It is nice to have something of his brand to introduce to younger generations. Aside from the damaged packaging, this is a great item and has potential to be a great gift so long as it looks better upon receipt!

Fun, engaging set; could have better quality
My kids love science, Bill Nye, and experiments like these. The app was able to be downloaded on their iPod Touch, but it wouldn't run the VR functionality (perhaps the screen is too small?). When I downloaded it onto my iPhone 15 Pro Max, a new menu popped up offering the VR functionality, which then worked fine. The experiments are fun, though the items for each are lower quality (one of the balloons ripped from tape pretty quickly). However, it's nice having everything together in a kit is helpful, along with both written and video instructions. The additional educational information is great, too!
