Epoxy Basics: Working with Epoxy Cleanly & Efficiently

Utterly Useful
This book has a particular focus on using epoxy for light boat building, but don't let that stop you from getting it. I will probably never build a boat. None of my friends are boats. I never met Boaty McBoatface. But when it comes to working with epoxy, this guy really nails it.I use various sorts of epoxy for all sorts of things, and I mostly stumble my way along OK. But this book has helped quite a lot already, and I expect to refer to it over and over again in the future. Not everything was new to me, but most of it was. And it doesn't matter if the techniques are presented in a boat-centric way; all the wisdom here is easily applicable to a multitude of projects.I wish I'd bought it sooner.

Beautiful photos and easy to understand text.
Beautiful photos and very concise text to make anyone that reads the book, like a textbook, want to dive in immediately. Extremely happy that I purchased this book.

Good book
Great for a review on working with epoxy, or a preview if that’s where you are coming from.

A beginner book but has tips for all
Even though this is a book for beginners, I learned several tips I will use in my next boat build.

not useful
This is a very short book - on the level of the informational brochure that comes packed in with a high-quality epoxy. Not worth a separate purchase. Wish I could return it for a refund.

Building - well anything - with epoxy?
Russell Brown’s book is the Bible for newbies and experts alike. I’ve read this probably 6 times and every time I see something that I missed or didn’t really think important at the time. Buy it. Read it. Read it again. Keep it to hand as you are working on your project.

Well written and illustrated.
This is not a large book but it leaves out all the fluff you find in other books like a chapter on tools, a chapter on safety, a chapter on materials, etc. It cuts to the chase and is very informative. this guy really knows how to handle West System epoxy.

Cracking book!
It’s the most amazing composite material: glass cloth and epoxy over (already a composite material) plywood. So can you just get your bucket and marigolds and have at it?Er, no. This brilliant material needs a brilliant book brim full of information, tips and tricks and this is just the book.I bought it and my wife rues the day that I did: not a day goes by without quiet pipe dreams of building glorious dinghies and yachts in the bathroom. If you have boatbuilder aspirations buy it - if you want to save your marriage then don’t…

Ein schönes "Buch"
Es ist kein richtiges "Buch" sondern eine dünne Broschüre. Aber schön gemacht mit vielen Bildern.

EPOXY BASICS
Fantastic little book! I have worked with fiberglass fabrics and poly resins, but have no experience with epoxy resins. I have an upcoming project where I will be knee deep in epoxy. I found this manual to be full of useful tips on everything from organizing your work area to making your own filleting tools. I’m reading to get going on my project even though I can’t start until spring! The book was not as thick as I expected, but I would still have been satisfied if the book had cost twice the price!
