This is an update from previous review. Surprisingly this blade Is very functionable and very tough. For the price that it is available I would recommend highly. I have purchased many many blades and around 80% needing sharpening when received. This blade was received with NO sharpening needed. I have used for household tasks needing a sharp blade and this one is the answer, or I would be perfectly comfortable doing a Presidential traverse of the northern and southern mountains of New Hampshire. If you purchase this one you HAVE to get the matching folder of this steel. Another absolutely great piece of steel for short money.

I purchased this knife because I have the original ultimate knife never used and wanted to keep with the BG tradition. I own many hunting and tactical knives as I am a Park Ranger and a knife is always with me. From owning the best Gerber Knife ever made the BMF to the GB Ultimate I would have no issues going on a search and rescue with this knife 4.5 stars.

I bought this for my grandson for his birthday. I had bought one a few years ago for an older grandson. It brought a smile to this one's face. He thinks he is hot stuff now. lol. It is a good quality knife .

Pretty much what everybody else said. It is a good basic knife for the price. For the tough gashing and smashing I might do while trying to get setup in a camp in the woods, it is just fine. Actually, I prefer a knife of this caliber because I don't feel too bad if I damage it. The sheath is useless.

I've not really used this yet, but it has a great feel to it. The weight is nice, the knife feels good in the hand, and it seems to be good quality. I'm happy with the purchase at this price.

Performs as advertised. One feature the seller fails to mention is really nice: There are two small holes in the handle where the blade meets the handle. This is for tying the knife to a long stick in case you want to make a spear.
