COOLTONE FA-B12 12-Inch Box Fan Grey

I've had this fan for a year before writing this review. I'm doing so now because even the first is still going strong I really NEED a second one! I've had every type of fan there is in the past but this is by far my favourite! It's not a silent fan, it's just a bit of white noise in the background, but you don't get that added sound that other fans have when they move while oscillating. It's perfect to help keep my bedroom cooler at night, and being a woman of a certain age that is a lifesaver!

Can not say about heat as mine don’t run with it but fan is excellent I find better than the stand up tube ones that flooded the market so much so I swapped and bought a few more of these ,quite ,lightweight and covers the same amount of space as a rotating one if not more ,3 speed and timer so worth the money

I have had two of these, and neither of them worked for more than six months. With the first, I thought I was just unlucky and had got a bad one - so I replaced it with an identical one. That stopped working too. Clearly some kind of major design flaw so AVOID THIS PRODUCT. Update: The design is such that the bearings fill with dust after a while and the whole thing grinds to a halt. If you know what you are doing (and manage not to electrocute yourself) you might be able to get the thing working again with some PTFE lubricant. But be careful to choose something that does not degrade the plastic, short out the electrics, fill the room with volatiles, etc.

I bought one of these 29 years ago. It's still working 29 years later. This new one arrived the next day, plugged it in, and it's been rock solid ever since. It can be placed on the window sill and brings in cooler air from outside without the worry of it falling over. Brilliantly simple design.

Two minutes to saw off the feet, and it’s installed in a box with a filter effectively cleaning the air in my workshop. Perfect solution at a very reasonable price.

Okay, it is new so I can't speak about longevity, but I spent the most comfortable night in weeks by putting the fan in the window and drawing in cold air. It is not noisy, but about the same as the fan we already use in the room, which is acceptable (we have another one that sounds like an aircraft carrier). It is louder on higher settings (not as loud as the downstairs one, even still), but we didn't find this necessary. It arrived early (and I was so happy with this) and was put to immediate use. I may get one for the lounge.
