Give the zipper a chance!
Honestly my initial reaction to the backpack was not a good one, but I was a day away from leaving on a two week vacation so I decided to give it a chance and I’ve been pleasantly surprised! This is a day bag, so it’s not very big but it’s big enough, that should be taken into account when purchasing. Interestingly the zipper was very difficult to open and close when it was completely empty, BUT after I packed it out and started using it more, it was not longer an issue! Packing it really helps the zipper to open more easily since it’s no longer recessed underneath the flap as much. I’ve also carried it around for several hours in one day and it was very light and comfortable. So, it’s a great little bag that is also water resistant! I roamed around in the Seattle rain with it, and it did excellent. Don’t be put off right away by the zipper, it just needs a chance.

small bag, great but small
I use this as an office bag and it is perfect. Fits my large water bottle with room for lunch. The front zipper pocket is awesome and the key leash is great for my work keys. Very well built and the material is very strong and nice.

Great EDC backpack if you're looking for something smaller
I need to carry around quite a bit of electronics and tools with me, but not enough to lug around a full backpack or tool chest out and about.I've been on the lookout for a small EDC backpack with enough space for some small tools (Leatherman, flashlight, etc) and some cables and battery pack. That kinda stuff.I had previously purchased a 20L bag and discovered it was too big and cumbersome. This 13L bag has exactly enough space and organization for me to bring all my useful stuff with me without getting in the way.The materials seem very nice and it feels like a quality bag. Zippers feel high quality as well.Overall you're not gonna be using this kinda bag for a weekend trip and you're not gonna be able to stuff a jacket or sweatshirt in here. If you need a smaller backpack to keep a bunch of little stuff organized as an EDC bag or whatever then this is probably gonna do the job for you.Do NOT get this bag expecting to stuff a ton of stuff in it. It's NOT meant for that. It's a SMALL backpack, but that's exactly what I was looking for.

Nice small backpack for work or travel
I was looking for a small backpack to carry essentials for work or travel, and this fits the bill. It has sufficient organization, my 13" Macbook fits fine, and keeps its form well without sagging like larger packs. It looks nice for professional work, as a casual daypack, or travel as it is sleek and minimalist, and should fit nicely under an airline seat while still allowing space for my feet.. While I've only had it a short time, the quality of material and zippers seems good and I'm overall satisfied with the purchase. There are two things I would improve, or at least make other buyers aware. 1.) While the flap over the main zipper has a purpose to keep some rain out and possibly for aesthetics, it is a bit large and can be slightly cumbersome trying to zip/unzip 2.) Adding a slim water bottle pouch on the side (like on the Alpaka Elements) would have increased functionality and opened up space in the interior, at least as an option.

A nice high quality compact backpack for EDC
I own many backpacks -- for travel or EDC -- and the Alpaka Metro Backpack is my favorite for EDC. I love the high quality materials and construction. I especially love the clean compact form factor. My 13-inch Lenovo Thinkpad fits snugly inside the laptop compartment. This compact backpack has enough room for my EDC and more. As another reviewer had noted, it is tricky to unzip the main compartment because of the "rain cover" design. Because of this design, taking out my Thinkpad is definitely a 2-hand process.

Size!
It has the perfect size for an EDC backpack. All the zippers and the quality of materials that the company had put into this makes it worth the price paid for. I love the simplicity of the aesthetics and the ample organization inside!

Overengineered & Large
I was looking for an EDC bag and found that this was not it. It has great organization on the inside, but it lacks a normal form factor. It kinda crumples in on itself when it’s closed. You have to pull the fabric a bit and then you can expose the zipper to open the bag. Makes getting in a bit harder. It’s also much larger than you’d think. It looks like something you’d toss right on your back and go, but it actually needs some adjustment on the way out. The load may have shifted.I returned it in new condition. I have a feeling that Alapaka, like AER, is just another dropshipper that will fade into obscurity in a few years. They provide the design. China provides the weird bag. Us bag lovers, unfortunately, keep buying it.Save your money. Move on. Next!

Mistaking got the Metro thinking it was the Metro Pro :-(
Just got my bag which is awesome quality. I didn't realise that its was different from the pro because when I searched "Alpaca Metro Pro Backpack" What shows up is a smaller bag. Which is really small for my EDC.Not sure how to resolve this.
