Out the box and no protective oil. Wiped sunflower oil in both sides and heated on gas stove. Left to cool and wiped excess oil off, looks like it will last forever :) as very solid cast iron. Good smaller size to fit onto the grid of the bbq without taking up all the room for cooking on direct heat. What I like best is that it can be picked up and placed onto the table and keeps everything warm. The heat retention is remarkably good. Things like prawns, squid, onions or kebabs would look good served at the table on the griddle.

Not used yet but looks like it will do the job but a lot smaller than expected, perhaps I should have got the tape measure out before ordering it.Item arrived on time

Well made, easy to handle and wash (season after washing highly recommended as with any cast iron items). I chose this size mainly for handling and only cooking for myself (house full of vegans) ideal for a steak or a couple of burgers.

I got this to make crumpets on, heat distribution great as well as very easy to clean. Unfortunately it is much smaller than anticipated (22 X 15cm smaller than I imagined) - takes 2 crumpets or a single fried egg (cooked great as a experiment!). I was thinking of buying a second one to get the required cooking capacity. Other people possibly should see if you can get this make in a larger model. Very heavy and keeps heat great. Be wonderful for also doing dropped scons as has a flat side as well which I tend to use all the time.Arrived quickly I would buy from this seller again.

Looks a decent size in the photos but honestly it’s like having something off Wish, it’s tiny, probably cook 1 sausage at a time😳

Purchased this item as a replacement for an old piece that I have had for many years. I noticed reviewers were commenting on the size, most saying it was smaller than they had expected , a smaller item was just what I was looking for! It fits comfortably onto my stoves burners, being small it heats up quick and retains temperature well. Once seasoned it is ready to go! Considering buying a second one!

Bought this for my bbq. The product weighs a lot and has rusted quickly. Didn't get the char grill marks on the meat as I wanted.

Pretty good value for the price. Nice small size which would suit a singleton or a couple that don't go for massive portions. Quite resilient as it was posted through our letterbox when delivered and landed on a solid floor with cardboard packaging and no bubble wrap protection so super tough.
