Great budget TV from a trusted brand
We purchased this TV for occasional use in a small, two-person household. We didn't want the TV to dominate our living room and for it to become a space only for watching TV, so the 55" was perfect. Since we're a 'no-TV license' household, we use it in the evening to watch shows/movies on streaming services and for gaming. As owners of a couple of high-spec LG gaming monitors, our expectations were high and this TV did not disappoint. We had no issues connecting it to any peripherals. We've connected a dedicated gaming PC, which works perfectly with the TV. We've also been able to remotely connect to the gaming PC in the office and stream with good picture/sound quality. As the remote doesn't respond to voice commands, we purchased a small keyboard with a trackpad which connected easily. We also fitted a small LED strip to the rear, which plugs into the USB-C port, turning off and on with the TV. As other reviews have mentioned, the sound and picture quality is good for the price. It has a variety of display settings depending on whether you're gaming/watching movies, etc. Overall, we've managed to build ourselves a decent set-up for grown-ups looking to relax in the evening away from our respective desks without spending a fortune.Pros:Easy to install peripheralsGreat for smaller spaces or if you don't want the TV to be the focal point in the roomGreat sound/pictureMultiple display optionsEasy connections to a gaming PCCons:Not a voice remote – husband griped about thisNote:We can't comment on any Live TV features as we don't use them.

Brilliant TV!!!
This is a great TV, cannot understand the negative reviews. Once setup and WiFi enabled everything is good. I am even using the sound from the TV and find it adequate. Picture excellent and uhd even better. A great TV at a great price!!

A very capable set, for almost anyone.
The setup was simple; however, it's useful to ensure you have all your streaming services installed on your phone to speed the process up.The stand was simple to build, 8 screws and a simple click-in process and it was done. It's not very heavy to lift, but having two people to manouver it will save worry and/or damage.I connected the DSAT and UHF for linear services; DSAT (via Freesat) has higher-quality versions of the same content you'd find on Freeview. Freeview is hampered by a lack of capacity to broadcast content, and broadcasters like to squeeze more and more into that space. This results in [them] reducing the broadcast quality and a lower quality picture quality, but if you get your content from a satellite, that isn't the case. Of course, if you have both connected, you should find there's no single point of failure for things like bad weather, etc.WebTV OS asks a few questions (Wi-Fi details, postcode, Google sign-in, etc.); you select what is correct for you, and it goes away and fills the EPG. Then you can move the channels around into a favourites list – shopping channels, news channels and religious programming can be skipped forever. We have a soundbar, but even before I plugged it in, the built-in speakers were surprisingly good for the size of the television. Most people will be satisfied with what it comes with, but as always, get a soundbar if you have the means, and you will be far happier. The human mind will ignore a bad picture after a while, but poor-quality sound will drive you to distraction. A reasonable-quality soundbar (with HDMI eARC) is a good investment. One annoyance is the need to dig into sub-menus to switch off all of the promotions, prevent the set from starting on the homescreen (rather than live television) and the lack of a 'live TV' button on the remote control. After some messing around (and searching YouTube for hacks), we got it set up in a very usable way.Picture rendering is very good; I'd recommend turning off all the eco stuff (or your picture will always be dim), selecting one of the ISO Day or Night presets, and it should be good enough for most of the stuff you watch. The Magic Mouse is a subjective thing; I find it annoying and always try to use the navigation 'thing' in the remote, but you may enjoy its speed. Connect your Alexa device, and you can turn it on/off, change channels or alter the volume from elsewhere in the room.Overall, this a a very well designed and built television.

Does what it says on the tin
Very good value for money. Great Picture and sound ( combined with Sound Bar ). Have watched Freesat, DVD/BluRay and Catch-up. The Picture quality was very good. A bit fiddly setting up or changing input, and the WOS takes some getting used to. Accidentally set the TV to LG TV and had some difficulty changing back to Live TV. Overall, everything I expected, at a very good price. It replaced a 9 year old Sony, which had a very good picture, and it is good now to have the utility of a Smart TV, which makes everything so much easier. Not disappointed.

Good value TV, perfect for my needs.
Very pleased with my first LG TV. My 12 year old Sony finally gave up the ghost & I wanted a decent tv at around the £300 price. A 43” just fits in the corner & doesn’t dominate my small cottage. Easy to set up & connect to my Sky box & cctv. I find sound & picture quality fine & comparable to Sony. There’s obviously lots more Apps etc than my old Sony & still working my way through some of the options. I have quite poor wi-fi hence my Sky box but so far everything I’ve watched direct from the TV rather than through Sky has been ok - so best of both worlds. Overall very happy with my purchase in the price range I wanted.
