Jazz - A Film by Ken Burns - 4 DVD BOXSET [Region 2 UK]

I remember being impressed by Ken Burns' programmes when screened by the BBC some years ago. When I saw them advertised for sale at a very reasonable price, I bought the 4DVD set and they are just great. So full of information, background, atmosphere and great action shots. Well worth investing in and revisiting from time to time. Highly recommended.

I am not a Jazz person and that probably influences my review.I really enjoyed the country music series and looked forward to continue viewing it but here I did not get the same feeling.Possibly because I did not recognize the presenters.The quality of photography and film views were very good but the series was not for me.

Wonderful documentary on the origins and development of Jazz music with footage of so many of the greats. But NO SUBTITLESIt should be default to subtitle dvds now.

Ken Burns is a great documentary maker.I,as a jazz fan, think that this is a brilliant piece of work.It covers a great many of the giants of jazz in an informative and sympathetic way.This set is a great addition to anybody’s library and terrific value for money

Twelve hours on 4 CDs covering the history of jazz. I loved every minute of it and will soon be watching it again. I also picked up the 5cd soundtrack which is excellent. If your into Jazz don't miss these collections.
