This is an amazing novel
Firstly, I enjoyed this book a lot. It is a romantic fantasy with a lot of emphasis on the romance. To me to romance is the point of the story. I read this book visually with the physical book, but I also listened to it on audio. Now, there are a few conflicting things I feel about this. The audio is both dual narration and duet narration, and the duet narration occurs in chapters where, when reading it without audio, you wouldn't necessarily pick that there are two narrative voices. So, I feel that the audio adds to the experience. However, the female narrators voice is incredibly robitic, almost like an AI voice model is reading it. So it was a little off-putting.Now, onto the actual story.I really like Reave as the FMC she is an interest character who has definitely been through it. I found her mental scape very interesting, and as someone who is studying psychology, it felt like a good way of interpreting mental health struggles through some magical realism. The pacing of this book is quite slow. For example, the first paragraph from the blurb takes up around the first 100 pages. As well as this, the main story from Reaves' perspective is broken up by diary enteries and occasionally the MMCs perspective. Then weirdly, there are a few chaperts from another female character later on. I did like this. It made the story feel like it wasn't trapped by trying to stick with one or two narrators. The plot in this book is interesting and quite captivating. What I thought was going to be the big twist occurred at about 300 pages, so I went into the last part of the book with high expectations. I found that not a lot more happened after that. It was predictable to me, but that wasn’t a bad thing. There were no plot points that were unpredictable, but the story and world as a whole were captivating enough that it didn't matter. I thoroughly enjoyed Kaan. He was everything I wanted in an MMC, and he added to the overall reading experience. There is definitely some spice, but I would say that the spice wasn't too smutty... if you know what I mean. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I rated it 5 stars.

A phenomenal start to the series
What a first book to start a series !This has been a highly anticipated read for me this year and it did not disappoint!I loved the multiple POV's we get from this book but not too much that it gets confusing. The world building and plot was well written and flowed throughout the whole book."𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱, 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁. 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁."We are introduced to our assassin FMC Raeve very early on and she is such a badass! I love a strong FMC and she was sassy too, she had some amazing one liners that had me giggling. She has definitely been through a lot from the start of the book you get a brief insight of why she is closed off but we don't know why, it gets explained as the book continues on, but I still have so many questions !!!Which leads me to this comment that Sarah has done an amazing job leading us into book 2 with the multiple POV's and their stories that we will get into the next book, especially with that epilogue chapter 👀🤯Our introduction to our MMC Kaan was done so well as I was questioning so many things about his character and his importance to the story, especially as he held himself so well (again as the plot moves on we get more answers from him) during some scenes that he witnessed. He also gave back to Raeve what she handed to him, which was great as their banter just flowed so well!"𝗛𝗲'𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗺𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲. 𝗜'𝗺 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗰𝗲. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻."And lastly the dragons and the elements! Such a great plot because everything was so well balanced but I know the dragons have more to do with this series and I cannot wait! Please add this to your TBR you won't be disappointed!5⭐️2🌶️Book Tropes-𝘧𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘺-𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵-𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘍𝘔𝘊-𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴-𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘹𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘺-𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤-𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴-𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘥-𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘴 !!!-𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘣𝘪𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦

“For those who feel small and quite, spread those wings and roar.”
When the Moon Hatched (Moonfall Series Book 1) by Sarah A. ParkerRating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Recommend: 10/10“He’s fire and brimstone. I’m shattered ice.”Let me start by saying the artwork in this book is immaculate, its giving renaissance with a tinge of baroque. The map is designed with such thought and it is such a beautiful concept with the three sections of the world split up, reminds me of the two seas that don’t meet in the real world. The overall story is written so beautifully and you feel like you’re drowning into the story just by reading the prologue, it’s written like actually art, some parts are almost like poetry especially the introduction about the first five creators. The dragons were beautiful descriptive & the way they form into moons when they pass on was such a unique concept! Its definitely a romantasy in a high fantasy setting!‼️Slight Spoilers 🤗The book was written in Raeve’s pov but I feel that it should been in Kaan’s. He was such an interesting character and he carried the entire book. He was so strong & well written character, that made me want to know more about him. Some of the dialogue used for him was so gut-wrenchingly beautiful, the things he says to Raeve/Elluin, the way he was in awe when he first saw her, reminded me of that scene in “How to Train your Dragon 2” when Stoick found his lost wife Halka (“You’re as beautiful as the day I lost you.” that scene) The way he kept her moon 😭 and tried to find all the shards to piece them back together, oh my heart, there is so much more, but you just have to read the book!😭Raeve was a little bit annoying at times, I felt that she blatantly accepted that she lost her memories and used to be someone else before too early on and it seemed like she didn’t care to address it. It was very predictable as to who she was, what she meant to Kaan, that Kyzari was her & Kaan’s daughter, very early on into the book, it was easy to put the pieces together. But as much I find her annoying I also want to see how everything will unfold, will she get her memories back? Will she ever be saved from Sereme? Where do her loyalties lie?Theres a few sad scenes in here especially with the dragon abuse, & when Raeve got captured by Rekk Zharos, I felt that they were written so well to the point that you feel like you actually witness it all happen, and mind you these are mythical creatures and I’m out here feeling so sad, bawling my eyes out for them.I was having a bit of difficulty trying to navigate through the multiple pov’s which is why this gets a 4 star, at times I felt they weren’t necessary especially Veya’s pov, all the info she gathered could’ve been told through the Raeve’s diary entries, or in Kaan’s pov’s in conversations. But of course it’s just the first book and I’m sure there is a reason for everything. Also ‘The Other’s’ pov was interesting but also yet again very mind boggling as I couldn’t understand if it was Raeve’s alter ego or something else. And the random pov Rekk Zharos felt out of place. I do understand what the author is trying to with the multiple pov’s but it would’ve been fine with two main ones with the diary entries. That was my only concern, yet again we will find out in the next book. There so much more I want to say but unfortunately it’ll be too long for this review!😭

5 star
I loved this book, would definitely recommed. The world building was detailed and could be seen as slow to start with but I fell in love with the characters and watching the story unfold. If you love romance, adventure and dragons then this book is for you. I look forward to reading the next book and any others she releases.
