Yes. The spikes are sharp and will penetrate. Just don’t push down too hard. The brackets will bend.

It works but you have to be vefy careful with it

The spikes are about 3" long and they do extend beyond the wheel. The spike thickness may be a 1/4 ". I would go rent a gas powered aerator from home depot
