Works great, is a touch steep
I was looking for this exact kind. I researched EVERYTHING and really was torn on all the different choices. My deck comes right to the top railing and the other ladders just wouldnt work without being a tripping hazard. This was perfect. Easy to build, heat gun pretty necessary as you need to bend the heavy duty plastic. We filled with pea size rocks, and will it was tedious, i havent had any floating problems. Love this ladder!

A lot better than the old ladder
Let's get right to it! The pros: - Was fairly easy to setup. (hair dryer recommended for the 'bending' parts.) - A lot easier to use getting out of the pool than the old ladder. - Looks decent and goes great with the pool. - Easy fit to a deck that is 4 or 5 inches lower than the lip of the pool. - Has a spot for a light (purchased separately) - Allows for a top step over the pool lip (purchased separately) The cons: - The railing that's out of the pool is a bit wobbly (It's blow-molded plastic after all) - You need to fill the sides with play sand or P-stone to keep it from floating... takes a while. - Vacuum gets hung up on it all the time (no fault of these particular stairs) - Did I mention the wobbly railing? All in all it's a decent set of stairs at a fairly reasonable price. I'd love to see arm on each side that would turn the rails into a sort of tripod for stability. I may MacGyver one myself. I did cut a coke bottle in half to use as a funnel to help putting in all the P-stone. Saved me about an hour there. I'd also love to see attachable, curved 'wings' that would direct the vacuum around the stairs but I've yet to see one that offers that feature. I may MacGyver something for that too.

Hard to put together
The reviews about bending the stairs are correct. It will take 2 people to put this together. We used a hair blower to soften the bend area. Then try to fit in the holes. It was quite the job. My husband got very frustrated. But finally got it done. The extensions didn't come out far enough to mount to our deck. We didn't want to drill into the pool top trim so we had to build it up with a piece of wood. We made it work. Then we had a hard time keeping steps down in the water. We had to zip tie some sand jugs behind the stairs which my husband wasn't happy about. All and all my guess is these were made in China like everything else selling on Amazon these days.

So much better than a traditional ladder
Love this. The pebbles to keep it from floating were a little difficult to put in but so worth it. The steps/ladder are sturdier than the ladder that came with the pool but take up less room than traditional stair steps in a pool.

Quite the project to build & install, but, well worth it!
Definitely like these stairs. Sturdy design and well thought out. My one regret is we decided to add a pool light after we'd installed the stairs. The stairs are weighed down by pool water and approximately 30 lbs. of clean gravel. We were unable to find clean gravel so had to clean it ourselves. The process of pouring the gravel into the small crevice was time consuming. Read those instructions and be prepared for it take some time to assemble. Once assembled you'll be glad it's done!

Not sturdy
Ladder was horrible to put together. Once installed its very unstable, the steps bend the rails dont help steady you. Dont buy this!

I love these stairs!
These stairs are not only extremely sturdy, easy to get use but also take up way less space than the traditional pool ladder we had. The stairs are wide but low profile and do not stick out very far at all from the pool wall. I highly recommend and will never use a traditional pool ladder every again. I do recommend 2 to 3 people when assembling the stairs. 2 people to pop the stairs in and 1 person to hold the ladder steady.
