Amira's Diary of the Sudanese Revolution and War

Great classroom book
I purchased this book to support lessons on human rights and world events. My students, ages 13-15, were very impressed and engaged with the book. Several students asked to take it home and show their families. One student ( clearly an amazing writer), wrote in her class review " The aesthetic chosen by the author is pleasing and gives a journal like essences the reader flips through the pages. Establishing a child protagonist increases the level of sympathy and awakens emotions in support of the many Sudanese children. .....This is a book which is easily absorbed by both adults and children...."
