Perfectly Imperfect

An OK read !!
I liked this book, but I didn't LOVE it and I was suprised because I really thought I would. It was well written as all of Harper's books are, and I truly admire her for tackling this problem that's - well lets face it, most of us have and still do experience most days. I'm a "larger" lady so I know what this can feel like but I feel to some extent the problem was never fully tackled in this book, a little glossed over by the romance side of the story which in my opinion was way over the top.Willow Tate has just come out of an abusive marriage, constantly put down for her size by her husband and ridiculed by her step father and step sister, all the confidence has been knocked out of her. She is at her lowest point, when in her attorneys office on the day of finalizing her divorce, she has a chance encounter with a pair of gorgeous blue eye's and they belong to Kane Masters - top paid actor in Hollywood, sexy, rich good looking, and he has one aim in life - to make Willow his. He want's her like nothing else he has ever felt in his whole existence, even though he has had the most beautiful women on his arm, he can have his pick of the Hollywood elite but it's not them he wants. This book is how he sets out to woo and win Willow, a heart that is bruised, broken and a self esteem at rock bottom is not going to be an easy task. Will he succeed, you will have to venture inside this book to find out.I struggled half way through this book, I thought the story would have worked so much better if the lead male character had not of been who is was but just a normal run of the mill guy dealing with everyday life, the problems that willow had were on constant replay and for me it got slightly repetitive. If only it was that easy to meet a rich man who can whisk you away and make all these doubts and major body issue's- which willow had plenty of, evaporate in the space of around 2 months. I think not !! Most people's life's are not like that and that is where this book went wrong in my opinion. Also Kane started out as the typical handsome alpha male - assertive, in charge - driven, but even he grated on me after a while and was a let down in my eyes, too slushy, to soppy, tripping over his feet to please - he was not for me in the end.The premise of this story was good one but sadly it didn't work for me at all, but I do love the way Harper bought this issue to light based on her own dealings with this subject and she continues to do so - I applaud her for that and if you get a chance to listen to the playlist for this book, it is absolute perfection. One of the best I have encountered in relation to a book and story line.Nothing will stop me reading this author's books but this one sadly was just not for me.

I am so glad I read this book through the recommendation of my friend Allana. This book is a masterpiece and is probably the most beautiful story I have ever had the pleasure of reading.I will start by saying, I am Willow and I truly believe that there is a Willow in all of us. Most of us have struggledone with self image and self doubt at some point in our lives and have felt alone in our struggles. What this books shows us is that we need to be the change we want to see in ourselves and it doesn't matter what anyone thinks as long as we are happy and we love ourselves but that can be easier said than done. Harper has done a truly amazing job telling Willows story and empowering her throughout. It can't have been an easy story to write but my god has she done it justice and if everyone feels how I felt when they finish this book it's a very euphoric feeling. Making my way through the story I had one thought kept popping in my head, this is me. I know these feelings, I know this punishment, I know these cruel words. I even have my very own Kane in the former of my husband. He may not be a movie star but he does for me what Kane does for Willow.Every word in Perfectly Imperfect I felt and I urge all woman to read this book because it will have a huge impact on you as a reader and a person. I really can't praise the story or Harper enough. The story will stay with me for a very long time and I will go back and read it over and over because not only is it a story that has stole my heart but also one that made me realise we all struggle and we should never keep quiet about it.I'm jealous of everyone who gets to read this book for the first time! Savour it!

Amazing
HOLY FREAKING WOW!!! If you haven’t read this yet, then I really do recommend it!!I must admit I have been putting off reading this, sometimes a book hits a bit close to home and this was one of them. I finally put on my big girl panties and read it though. When I said read it, I mean I could not put this down for love nor money, or even sleep!!! It grabbed me and held on so tight there was no putting it down for later. It touches on some rather sensitives issues throughout but every one of these is dealt with tactfully. It is sooooo well written that you feel everything poor Willow feels. All her lows are right there in front of you, but her highs make you feel like you’re flying as much as she is.When Kane sees Willow in passing, at some of her all-time lows, he still feels a spark between them, he needs to find a way to get this enigma into his life and keep her there. She has many issues with her self-image, never truly believing in herself. Some of this changes when she finally realises that Kane means what he is saying. He wants her and only her. However, nothing in life is ever that simple. He has secrets, Willow knows he has them, but he can’t share them with her. For someone with trust issues this could tear them apart. Can Kane figure out a way to keep his word to his friend whilst not losing the love of his life??ABSOLUTELY FREAKING AMAZING!!!!!
