The Craft of Tattooing

I love everything about tattooing this is a very good read

I bought this as a present for my sister who was getting her first Tattoo kit and thought this book would really help her along in kick starting her knowledge of tattoos and I was right she was glued to the book and has read it twice to try and let it all sink in. This book is full of knowledge and good examples for beginners

Basic knowledge book on tattooing. It's ok. Quite a quick read as the text is fairly large inside

Fantastic book, have read cover to cover a few times, covers everything apart from the new rotary tattoo machines but it was written in 2005 so that explains why!

This book is a must for anybody interested in starting to learn about how to tattoo.

A basic book, the quality of paper and training could be improved.

The book is written in a comprehensive style and avoiding useless details. The book covers the technical side of tattooing.The pictures in black and white of tattoo machines aren't that clear but provide sufficient information.Overall a nice book for anyone considering to start a tattooing carrier.

I have never touched a tattoo machine. But after reading this book I feel more confident about how to handle it. Also, where and how to look for an apprenticeship. I'm glad that Erik took the time to write something that is going to be a great benefit to me. I still don't plan on doing any work until I read through it again and check over the notes that I have taken. I'm so glad that this is book is out there. He don't make you feel like crap because you are new to the tattoo game. He gives me the feeling that everyone has to start somewhere, even if it's reading a book. Thank you Erik. You're the best!

I bought this book since I'm learning to tattoo and since I'm a visual person it gives me something to look at and refer back to when my friend whose teaching me isn't around. I loved the conversational and casual tone that the author takes. I felt like it was literally a "master" saying "don't don't do, you'll f*** them up real bad", it was very easy to understand and very straight forward. A definite must read for anyone looking to get into tattooing who has very little or no prior knowledge of how it works! I finished this book in several hours and promptly ordered several more books that Erick Alayon has authored.
