Works well
Managed to get it to work first time! The instructions are photographs of each stage so very easy to follow. Unlike other glass cutters I’ve used, this one is stable which means your scour line is neat. There are two rubber bands which you place either side of the scratch, then you simply pour boiling water over it for a minute then plunge it in to cold water. I had to do this a couple of times for it to actually break but no force is necessary.Well designed and does the job. I’ve attached a photo of my first try.

Perfect cut first time.
This bottle cutter is made out of stainless steel (which I didn't notice when I ordered it) and looks well made and tough. I used a similar cutter a few years ago and it was very difficult to get a neat cut. I followed the instructions and, even with a thick Leffe beer bottle, I got a perfect cut at the very first attempt. I've just cut several more bottles just as easily with one failure - my fault for messing up cutting the initial line. I now need to order more beer and wine! Recommended.

Does what it says
Worked first time. Instructions were easy to understand, I rotated it about 3 times carefully with not alot of pressure then use boiling water and cold water and it broke apart neatly. Very happy

Worked first time!
There was just the back stop to screw onto the main unit, which was easy as there are wing nuts. This makes it quick to adjust as well. The rest of the unit was already assembled, so it wasn't long before I was trying it out. I followed the few instructions exactly and managed to cut the bottom off my first bottle very easily. If the first cycle of hot then cold water doesn't cause the cut to break, I found that just a touch more hot readily separated the parts. I have no experience of any other bottle cutter, so cannot offer a comparison with anything else, but this one seems to work very well and was a reasonable price.

Worked first time! I now have a wine glass goblet
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have wanted to cut bottles and recycle them for some time now and recently saw this on Amazon and took the plunge! I have tried this before with very mixed results but I can't remember what method I was using or what tools. In my video you can see I was so eager to try this out that I didn't even remove the wine bottle label before using it, but that didn't stop it from working and I now have a goblet on my first attempt! The good parts:- Easy to setup, just attach and position the 'L' bracket so that it stops the bottle wandering in the cutting position- Easy to use. Just a few rotations and you have the score line! The initial scoring will chick small fragments of glass, this is normal, just be prepared and do it on some newspaper or somewhere you can clean them up easily- Worked first time even though i had bad techniqueIssues:I wanted to cut the bottom off the bottle too, but because of the way the bottle slopes in you can't do it with this cutter. So think about this when selecting a bottle. This cutter is really designed for straight parallel sided bottles.Fortunately I was able to use my high speed ceramic cutting bit in the dremmel to get the base off.Overall I am very pleased. First attempt with bad technique worked, so with a bit more care I'll be able to get even cleaner lines. The cleaner the better because sanding glass takes a long time! I highly recommend trying this, its a great way to upcycle glass bottle and make some interesting things.
