I got this for my AC at the beginning of the summer. Set it up once and it worked for months. Great product

Did not turn on and flooded my kitchen
Unit was supposed to turn one once the 2 metal prongs made contact through the water level rising but it will not turn on automatically until i touch both prongs with my fingers. Maybe I have a defective unit.Used this for an icemaker drain.

Does its job w/ no noise
Turns out the house is on an old swamp area. When it rains big, water comes up below the house and also in alley water vaults.This tiny thing turns on when it senses water. It doesn't need to be fast, as water rises slowly.I dug down 6" or so, put in a lid from an old metal 35mm film canister (all the film lots got rid of those about 15 years ago, and I took some home) to keep it clean below the pump, added about 10' of 1/4" hose, ran that to a drain, and I'm set.No more large puddles underneath the house.

small but mighty
bought this to use in the pan for our air conditioner. is very small but it does the job very well helping to drain the pan. would suggest to anyone. thank you

Did not work in my application
I needed it to pump vertical 3 feet and it could not function in that capacityUnit does work at no more than 1.5 feet vertical water movement
