Sturdy and Heavy Duty!
The bamboo plates are very sturdy and heavy duty. They can handle heavy and soggy stuffs without issue. From the sustainability, they are biodegradable and compostable, which it helps to feel good to contribute to the environment. I would order these kinds of materials from now on.

Sustainable material, compostable, microwavable, but susceptible to grease
The most sustainable thing is of course to not use disposable plates, but if you need to serve a large crowd and care about sustainability, you can't really do much better than these. They're made from sustainable materials (bamboo and bagasse) with nothing from trees, are biodegradable and compostable (which I love but may not mean much if your local waste disposal doesn't offer composting), and are microwaveable. They are thin but quite strong, and very resistant to water. In my test, I poured boiling water into one of the plates and let it sit. At the end of 24 hours, nothing was soaked thru, no wet spots anywhere on the bottom, and there were no deformations or soft spots. I then emptied the water and immediately put in over 1lb of food (spread evenly), and easily carried the plate by holding the edge without it collapsing or folding. Oh, and it's quite resistant to light cutting with a knife. I was quite impressed by its strength and water resistance.Because of its biodegradability / compostability, it has no coating or film of any type on the top surface, which does lend it one weakness: it's susceptible to oil or grease, especially when microwaved or previously wet. Olive / vegetable oil can seep thru quite readily and potentially leave spots on the surface underneath. Additionally, when doing my test I noticed there was a small amount of shed fiber material floating on the surface of the water, which further proves that there was no coating on the top surface. It doesn't bother me, but may bother you.Bottom line, I love the degradability / composting ability of these plates, as they are probably the most sustainable and guilt-free disposable plates you can find. They're fantastic for dry / liquid water soaked foods, but you do have to be careful about greasy stuff (e.g. pizza) and what surface you put these plates on as they can get contaminated by seeping oil / grease. It's a worthy sacrifice for the sustainability, and I still recommend these plates.

fantastic plates
Earth Day is an excellent opportunity for us to contribute to the environment. These bamboo plates are an excellent choice for anyone looking for an eco-friendly alternative. I appreciate the fact that they are microwave-safe and environmentally friendly at the same time. Overall, I think it was a great decision, and I would definitely order them again.

Quality disposable Compostable
I like the quality and durability of these plates. I haven't had the best of luck finding plates that are compostable, microwavable and holding the weight of my meals without tearing, bending or falling apart. I was able to reheat a meal with steak and rice in the microwave on these plates. My food did not melt into the plate and it held together providing support for my food. The only thing I dont like is that the surface of the plate turns a dark color where it is touched by food and the price could be more affordable for the quantity.

Nice and strong!
These are great. Nice and strong, and a good size for picnics, camping, etc - large enough to hold your food, but small enough to discourage those people who pile up their plates way too high and then let the food go to waste! I'm very happy with these, and being eco-friendly is the cherry on top!

Good all purpose plate
The Bamboo Paper Plates have a strong frame and bold to them and it keeps its shape while holding weight. The overall look and feel is nice. I found that greasy food and foods with moisture seep through and I needed to double plate in some cases. With dry or food with less liquid or water in it this plate is performing fine.

Great for dry foods or snacks
These bamboo paper plates are strong and durable, they are best for dry foods, like sandwiches, snacks etc. I do not recommend for wet foods, it will soften and break.

Just Okay
These plates aren't bad and are very sturdy for being paper plates. The only thing is they do soak up liquid a little but so far have not lost their strength because of this. Overall these plates are good but I will probably only use them for dry foods.
