Terrific Ingredients!
The feel of this material, when I run my hand through it, is really different than any other cactus/succulent growing medium I've tried. It is Yummy. Peat Free Yeah! Bio-char + other good stuff for easy drainage and happy plants. I wish wish wish they distributed on the west coast so I could get bigger bags. Trying this out for the orchids, too, as their orchid care instructions said I could. So far the orchids are Happy!

Tiny expensive dirt bag.
I was flabbergasted at how tiny this bag of dirt is for the price. I sent it back. I can get a bag twice the size for half the price ($8) from a local plant shop. They're counting on you being too lazy to shop local.

I don’t think it’s real
Bought it and the mix had tiny peace’s of rock and some large chunks of wood. I honestly didn’t think anything of it until I bought 3 large bags from a local supplier that’s listed on the Organic Mechanics site. The new bags were moist and did not include rock pieces and the big chunks of woods. So I’m not sure if the rocks and wood were filler to help fill up the bag, the formula changed or this is unauthentic but I still mixed it in with the 3 big bags and my snake plant seems to be doing fine. I feel like the rocks and big chunks of wood help with drainage anyways. Snake plant doing ok

This soil is magic
Seriously, this soil is magic.Holds water just long enough, dries out consistently, enough aeration for succulents, has nutrients so no need to fertilize. Super easy to repot, falls off roots as needed. Easy to check moisture level - just stick a bamboo stick in it all the way down and you'll know by the feel of how it goes in, or color of the soil.I now use just this and bonsai jack gritty, depending on the type of the plant or pot size. I live in NJ, grow indoors.Use this for propagation, smaller plants and (relatively) water loving plants. In pots > 4" deep it will take too long to dry.Use a fan to make it dry faster (always good). You can also control how deeply you water. For shallow, water till first stream runs out of the drainage hole. For deep, keep watering for a bit while it's draining. It's cheaper at the manufacturer, not here.
