This lard is nearly tasteless. It is wonderful for making pie crust, very creamy and neutral. I've tried others, but this has no smell or animal taste. I've gotten it in both size buckets, which are also nice to use later for other food product storage.

I've used this lard several times now and am impressed. It's even improving the seasoning on my cast iron skillet just by using it to sear meat as well as shallow fry some Siete almond flour tortillas I cut into triangles to make chips from. By shallow I mean really shallow. Just a few tablespoons in a 14inch skillet. It has a neutral flavor and smell yet somehow makes the food taste better! I would buy this again. It took a while to search for one that wasn't made from CAFO feed lot pigs. The lid, as others have comments, was very difficult to get open the first time. The rim that indicates you can just pull that strip away is very wrong. The "tear-away" strip is not perforated to be able to do that. I had to pull the tab as much as I could to form enough of a piece to stick out so I could wedge my kitchen scissors into the gap and cut around inch by inch. It was tedious and frustrating to do. BUT, it also made me feel better that it wasn't tampered with before it reached me!

High quality, without any additives. Great to deep fry with and no unpleasant flavor.

Perfect source of fat, lard should never have been vilified.

Yep, Pie crusts like grandma used to make! Also I have noticed that my cast iron pans are holding their "seasoning" much better with the use of the lard. Makes ssense if you think about it.

Great product, nice bucket. Ordered several times, but then... I was extremely concerned when I opened it to find finger prints in the top, as if someone put it into the bucket by hand. I hope whoever it was wore gloves. Ha ha!
