Not just a plain aluminum washer but with added coating on both sides, much like the factory one or like the one that most dealership shops would use. Just make sure that the dimensions (ID and OD) are very close to your model vehicle oil drain plug washer specs. Don't take Amazon's vehicle fitment statement for granted. Sometimes it is wrong. Pleased with my purchase. Not likely you'll find these washers cheaper at a local auto parts store.

Since I do all my maintenance on all of my vehicles. It's a good practice to replace the oil drain gasket each time you change the oil. I never reuse the gasket and even at dealer pricing. They are fairly cheap.I compared this to the factory gasket and the felt liner on both side of the gasket appears to be a similar material to the factory one. Thickness is the same and though the aluminum washer looks a bit rough when they punched these out from a sheet of aluminum one.They looks and feel the same and dimensions is spot on. So these will work just fine as long you use the proper torque spec when tightening down the oil drain plugs.Great alternative to the factory one and a lot cheaper. Happy with the product.
