Slowly, faces, animals, entire scenes, and abstract patterns will appear. Every pattern in this pad is synchronised with every other. Overlay them all to get the pattern shown on the back page! Pattern Pad 1 is based on a square subgrid. Review: Great fun to colour in with either crayons - Great fun to colour in with either crayons, pencils or felt tips. Using your own imagination to create designs, the pad is my favourite colouring in book for chilling out. The pad comes with 2 x 12 different patterns to colour in, some of the designs are quite similar. The patterns are printed single sided on nice thick card that you can pull out of the pad carefully. When I have finished with the designs I have used the pictures in other projects. Review: Excellent !!! Altair design rocks - Used to have these as a child, still the best for pattern colouring - every pattern fills the page - nice paper too. Can't beat them !! Delivery good too.

Altair design book 1
With the popularity of adult colouring books recently I remembered the Altair design books I used to enjoy as as a child. As I had no luck finding the title in the shops I searched amazon and success. Patterns as I remember. The pages in the book are very thick more like card. No problem using felt tips as its one pattern to a page (blank on reverse). There are only 24 pages (12 patterns printed twice) which is a liitle disappointing. The number of pages is not mentioned in the details and I think this should be updated so others are aware. I also ordered design pad 2 at the same time and I will review this also

Great fun to do and relaxing
I remember doing these as a child and didn't realise that they were still available. Am looking forward to doing these again.

Nostalgia
We had these pads in the mid-1970s and I used to love colouring them in and that is the only reason I ordered them. I then found myself buying crayons and felt pens and wallowing in my distant 10-yr old self and having a wonderful time, removed from any responsibility as I played with themโฆ highly recommended.

Possibilities endless lines are thin
Exactly as I remembered these things from being a kid. Shame there are so few about. Lines thin, possibilities endless. Great little book

Great Patterns
Good as it uses one page per pattern so you don't have to worry about felt tips going through the page to the other side. great designs

but still fun to color in
The pages are smaller than the original Altair Design books, but still fun to color in.

Similar to what I remember
I grew up with the original Altair Design books I had in the 1970s. It was nice to see these available! I just wish this book had been as large my originals--these pages are smaller and are square. As this was a gift, though, I really had to resist the urge to grab the colored pencils and start coloring away at a few pages. These were a lot of fun back in the day, and my daughter will also enjoy them just as much!
