Great for small areas. Work great, high-quality workmanship and sound output.
I ordered one of these about 15 years ago and liked it so much that I have ordered 3 more since then. I have them in my office, kitchen and bathroom. They have the best quality of sound I have ever found in a small radio that I can fit in anywhere and even take traveling. They pull in all my local stations and even some that I could never get before. It's easy to preset your favorite stations and work great for both my AM talk stations and FM music programs. The batteries last a long time, but I got the cords since when the batteries die, they don't just fade out, but stop. I'm very happy with these.

This is the best radio!
I hesitated to spend so much on a radio but the features of this one sold me. In hurricane prone areas, this AM radio runs on 4 D size batteries when power fails. The tone of voice is excellent, the alarm is easy to set, static that I used to accept as normal on my old small radio is gone and the reception is strong and clear. This radio is easy to operate, portable and doesn’t weigh much. This radio is worth the price and look forward to using it for many years.

If I had only one radio...
This would be the one radio I would have if allowed to only have one radio. First, let me mention a couple things I like about the company. One, I like the fact I can go to the C. Crane website and actually order radios and parts from them; no having to mess around with third-party sellers. Second, I like the fact that I got quick responses from C. Crane when i asked them questions. My impressions regarding the radio. I can't speak to lasting quality because I have had this radio two months only. But, i was so impressed with the first one I bought that I bought a second one before the price increased. The radio is easy to use, has best reception (both AM and FM) of any radio I have, especially if I use it with the TERK loop antenna for AM. At night, with the radio sitting on a table in the living room) I am able to get AM stations from Cleveland, Boston, etc (and I am in northern Michigan). For FM the radio brings in two stations I like to listen to but am unable to bring in using other radios. I feel the CC Radio 3 brings in these hard to capture FM stations on a par with Qodosen DX-286. Sound quality is good, especially when taking into consideration this is still a portable radio. Sometimes hard rock/heavy metal songs sound "bunched" or the instrumentation sounds "squished together", but that could be a result of the station or the song's original recording because Jazz sounds very good. Classical sounds very good. Pop sounds very good too. Talk radio is excellent with no "ear fatigue" after listening for several hours. This is my best sounding radio after my Sangean WR-55 tabletop radio. Build quality, although is made of plastic, feels like a "good plastic", not a cheap, brittle feeling plastic. All the buttons on the radio are clearly labelled as to function and easy to figure out even without consulting the manual. Other things I like: the fact the AC power input isn't a wall wart; that I can use battery power if there is a power outage; that I can listen to weather radio (because if there is a power outage, that probably means bad weather). I feel at this point in my purchase, that buying this radio was money well-spent.

Great Radio. Great Features. Great Sound
I like the CC Radio Solar very much. Reception on all bands is excellent, sound is of good quality and quite loud enough for my own around-the-room listening. The multiple power sources capability makes me feel confident that when I loose plug-in power, this radio will keep on going. The wind-up crank works well and so does the solar panel. I like this size of the radio, which is small enough to carry around and fit in tight places. It's easy to tune and has many features. The weather band works well and so does the bluetooth capability. I especially like the AUX input, which I use a lot to boost the sound and sound quality of other audio devices. The price is right for so many features and its unique power-backup capability. Battery life on the rechargeable is plenty long for me. The one thing it does not have that I would like is this. I would like to be able to have the display remain lighted even when the radio is running on battery. It only stays lighted for 10 seconds or so as to not draw down the battery. To have the display lighted all the time the radio must be powered from its charger. I like the display to be lighted continuously in dark places. As a long time "Radiohead" I find this radio excellent. You won't be sorry.

Phenomenal Radio for its Size
This radio is amazing for its size (it's smaller than I expected). Extremely well-designed. Exceptional reception. Solid build quality. It has two types of replaceable and rechargeable batteries (18650 or AA x 3). It has just the right number of presets (25 FM and 25 AM plus Weather). The speaker is tiny but sounds very clear and excellent. It has a clock with alarms. It even has Bluetooth receive. It's a 10/10, despite the fact that it uses a micro-USB to recharge it (my only negative nit-pick). You can also trickle charge it with solar or hand crank it in an emergency. Check out Toderbert's review of it on YouTube. He explains all of the features. It's the grand slam home run of the emergency radio world and worth every nickel of the $109 price. Highly recommended.

Quality construction.
Seems well built. Smaller than I anticipated but works really well thus far.

My first really good radio.
The build quality and reception is fantastic, it's also silly simple to set up. The sound quality is surprisingly good and when you lift the radio, it feels like it has substance. My first really good radio.

OK enough
Want to like this more than I do. My main complaint is that the sound isn’t as clear as I had hoped. I do have a hearing loss and wear hearing aids, but even when I have my aids in, I still don’t feel it’s clear The charge does last long and don’t need to run on batteries, though it can use batteries if you need power without charging. The size is good and very portable. Another plus for me. The light is adequate enough. Haven’t tried charging via crank or solar, though I know would be difficult to get full charge easily using these methods. Wanted for emergency use which I think will work okay. Hope don’t have to do that anytime soon. Would really give it 3-1/2 stars.

Excellent product - Highly recommended radio!
Excellent product. You can spend less on a radio but the C Crane CC radio is truly an impressive piece and worth every cent. It has weight to it and the feel of quality which you don't get from many of today's products. Designed and engineered by people who really like radio. The radio is able to pull in distant signals that other units only generate static. The unit also fine tunes the signal and eliminates background noise producing a clear signal. Highly recommend this unit.

Buen radio

Very good MW. FM average at best.
Sensitivity on the MW band is amazing and it has above average selectivity although a narrow filter option would have been beneficial. Unfortunately FM lacks the razor sharp selectivity I'd expect in a radio that cost me £177 to bring into the UK. The sensitivity on the FM band is also slightly disappointing. Overall a good MW dx radio from a sensitivity stand point but there are better options if you need an exceptionally selective radio. For FM dx look elsewhere!
