Replacement Remote for Apple TV Remote Compaitible with Apple TV 4K with TV Control

The hardest part was getting the back battery compartment cover to pop off. No setup required, the remote worked fine as soon as the two AAA batteries were installed. I find the larger size of the replacement remote control easier to use. And I like that it uses replaceable AAA batteries rather than requiring a USB recharging cable.

This is a basic universal remote. You could find a less expensive one. My Apple Remote with volume broke so I tried this one. The problem is once you turn the volume on this remote it glitches out and stops working on the Apple TV and actually stops working all together then starts working again after a long wait. They only mention in the manual it won’t work if you have 2 Apple TVs but it didn’t do a good job with the tv volume and connected Apple TV either. Now I’m just going to get the Apple Remote because this thing is cheaply made.

UPDATE Sept 2019: It's been a year since I purchased this. The remote stopped working slowly but surely after about 5 or 6 months! I purchased another brand and had a similar result. Now Im going to purchase this one again as long as the price hasn't gone up because the setup was so easy. It sucks it doesn't last longer but this will have to do if I can't get the original remote.__________________________________Original: I'll start with the good points, there's mostly good points.1. It works! It truly is universal! I didn't have to program it, I'm so shocked! The instructions say that most televisions (98%) should work automatically without needing to be programmed but, if you do need too, programming instructions seems fairly simple.2. The remote control looks nothing like my 2010 40in LCD and/or LED Toshiba television remote but the universal remote has a button that operates all the functions including the half mute option.3. The only problem I have is the edges of the Universal remote are not rounded like the original remote is.The universal remotes edges are borderline "Sharp", but don't worry you won't get cut.4. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the ease of use and price and would recommend to anyone in the market for a new Toshiba remote control to try this one first before the more expensive ones.
