If needed, you can screw the stand to the floor (screws included) -Looks great -Very well packaged. The boxes are very well packed and the items arrived flawlessly. -The stands are sturdy and well made. They're light enough to move around, but big enough they're unlikely to "walk away". Cons: -One downside is that you don't have access to the power button. So your iPad will always remain on, and you cannot put the display to sleep. This isn't a huge deal for me. I just decreased the time the screen stays on after the last time it's touched. -It isn't hard to put together, but it's not the easiest thing either. Having a second person is a big help. I had to cut some of the rubber locating pads to make my iPad 1 fit but that was super easy with an Exacto knife and a little patience. I bought an extra long extension charge cord from Micro Center to power it all day. I also bought a small round speaker and mounted it on the pole, under the display, with some aggressive double-sided tape. This really improved the sound projection at a noisy trade show. To run the video in a loop I downloaded a free app called Loopy and it worked great. Instead it has two screws that require a special allen wrench (provided). These secure the two metal shells together. I found it cumbersome as i wanted to remove each night. **Q: can you charge the ipad while it's in the case?** A: Yes you can. There are slots on the sides to run a cable into it. We bought a 15' charging cable for it so we can leave it plugged in. **Q: does this fit the ipad Air?** A: Yes it does. **Q: Does the stand have to be bolted to a table/counter to stand up correctly or is it heavy enough to stand on its own?** A: It stands on its own. The only drawback is that the power button for the iPad is not accessible. Ok, technically you can get to it through a tiny hole if you happen to get lucky and land on the button, but the power button is also half covered by the protective bumper inside (we use iPad 4th gen). So, the iPads must stay powered on until I take them apart.
