Worked as advertised & price is right
I let my brother borrow my adapter a year ago to allow him to search for pictures on deceased 4th brother's laptop & backup drive. Decided to replace mine as the original laptop, backup drive, USB's, & etc have all dissappeared. This powered my Western Digital My Book External Hard Drive HDD perfectly.:)

Only leave the power supply plugged in while in use.
The original power supply I had failed, I think just because I never unplugged it and it caused an open in the winding. This unit is small, fits well onto the plug strip/surge protector I have. It has adequate capacity to run my external hard drive for hours while I back up my computer!
