If I had believed those errant reports, we would have missed out on an EXCELLENT subwoofer that delivers. I have no idea what these others are doing in pairing or setup, and yes this is an expensive subwoofer, but it's worth EVERY PENNY. EVERY DOLLAR....or I would have promptly sent it back for a refund. Two months into ownership before writing this review, and I'm still finding myself amazed with this subwoofer. Review: A big step above the KC62. Quality. But it costs. - I've only had this item about a week and I wanted to wait to review it but I just couldn't wait. I wanted smooth, tight base and this thing delivered that perfectly. It has a lot of options on the back if your amplifier is lacking which is nice. Also read those specs carefully. Even though they are just 9 inch drivers, the thing is big and heavy. Oh and don't forget to choose the right setting for where you place it. I've attached a pic of the two most important settings. The 0 and 180° is vital if your sub is far from your mains. And don't neglect the "EQ" based on where you place it. Eg, don't put it in the corner and have it on "Room". And if you live in an apartment that's not ground level, please observe the one I underlined in cyan. 🩵 UPDATE: been living with this for a while and have now a total of 6 subwoofers (KEF, REL, SVS). This is the one. It's so clean. It will surprise you. Take the time to figure out where it belongs. Even better, buy two but don't be lazy and place them in stereo position like your main speakers. Move them around and you'll be surprised. I had this in a 20x40ft room with high ceilings and an attached hallway and when I had it in the right place and did a bass sweep it rattled things in the house at SPLs not much higher than my average listening (no need to do sweeps with super high SPL). My dream would be 4 black ones and two white ones and have my two Oreo Cookie or Reverend/Preacher stacks. That's what I'd want to call them. But again, that's still not the optimal arrangement even with 6. Much more musical low notes than my old Sunfire. Purchase was made before the latest (not entirely unexpected) price bump.
