Accurate and No Subscription Required
I never write reviews but this was an important purchase for my family. Mom with Alzheimer’s, but still physically fit and a safe driver. Moved her to an Assisted Living recently and dragged our feet on taking her car there, hoping she would forget about it. No such luck 😊 We thought having her car there would reduce her stress about being somewhere new. Bought this tracker. A piece of cake to install (just plug it in and drive around for 10-15 miles), download the app and share it with siblings. We get instant notifications when she starts the car, leaves the geofence, and tracks her car everywhere. We also have Find her phone on our iPhones. Yesterday, received notification that she left the ALF and then saw that she left her phone behind. She simply went a few miles to the grocery store but we were watching her on this app the entire time to ensure she made it back “home”. If she had missed a turn and got lost she would not have been able to call one of us. We would have been able to go find her! To date, she has made 3 trips and we were able to track her easily. With the notification of the engine start and turned off, we know she simply moved her car in the parking lot. It’s amazing and with no subscription fee, we would have paid twice the price! Worth every penny for our peace of mind. If anything changes, will update this review.

Solid unit with some minor idiosyncrasies
This is an early review and I'll update as time goes on. I own a video game truck that goes out for parties every weekend. I have several drivers that rotate to handle the events, and my truck goes 50 miles in any given direction. I also store this truck at a storage facility where I have no real means to monitor. So, there's quite a bit going on that live GPS monitoring would help me with. I searched many options and honed in on Moto Watchdog due to the zero subscription cost - onetime cost (more expensive upfront than a subscription). I received this unit very quickly, and charged it overnight before setting it up. It's heavy due to the magnet they use to attach to a metal surface, feels like a small brick. Simple design with a waterproof cover protecting the charging port and on / off switch. One status light to convey a few things like charging status, connection, etc. Set up was a breeze - I turned it on, downloaded the app and signed in, and the device was picked up automatically and quickly. I was instructed to walk around for 20 minutes to help with GPS accuracy, which I did. Then came the real test - using it on my trailer in a spot that's secure enough without exposing the unit in any way. Despite the strong magnet (I tested this on the chassis off the trailer, and the magnetism was strong), I didn't want to take a chance with the unit falling off during a trip. So, I put this inside (I have an enclosed trailer) in a hidden and secure spot. I worried that this would affect signal strength - no such issue. The signal was strong when I tested inside, outside, and away from the trailer. I can now monitor my trailer from the comfort of my home. This unit has gone on a few trips now. I'd say it's very accurate, with the chance of some false alerts. I received alerts saying that trailer had started moving, with an alert shortly after saying "Trip ended". The trailer had not moved, however. I chalked this up to GPS issues, satellites moving and connections being reestablished. I used the "movement alert" which I assume is used to figure out if someone tries to tamper or move the device itself. This also generated false alerts even after I lowered the sensitivity i.e. "alert when moved over 25 feet away". Less false alerts, but still happening. The app is well-designed, easy to use, and doesn't require much more for my needs. So far, very happy with my purchase since it's giving me peace of mind to track my trailer regardless of where it is.

Reliable and works even in remote South Asian countries well.
This GPS tracker is incredible as I used it and setup in South East Asian country. The setup was very easy as the app installation and customization. The fact that is device connect via OBD and there is not monthly subscription was a seller to me. The GPS details on the vehicle is incredible and alerts can be customized. I would highly recommend this GPS tracker to those looking to purchase a stable and reliable GPS.

Amazing product & superior support
Very impressed with Moto Watchdog - both the product and the support. It was quite simple to install and set up, works flawlessly, provides outstanding tracking and it gives notifications in a timely and accurate manner. It is also easily customizable for individual needs, particularly the geofencing and vehicle status alerts. The cost is quite reasonable, particularly with no subscription expense, and while I was admittedly a bit skeptical before buying, after having the Moto Watchdog OBD for over a year, any skepticism has been replaced with confidence. In regard to support, when I upgraded to a new phone, I thought I had a notification issue and wrote their support on a Friday night. Saturday morning I woke up to a response and following their advice, everything was operating perfectly (simply uninstall and reinstall the app and it essentially fixed everything - couldn't be more simple). I rarely write a review but their great product and amazing support made this an exception. Definitely a company and product I will turn to whenever the need arises.

Great tracker without the monthly cost
This works great for what I need. I bought two of these for two different vehicles. This lets you know when a vehicle starts, where it goes, the speed of the vehicle, and when it stops. It has more features than I need. The only thing that I don't like is that sometimes the alerts are delayed, and sometimes the location is not 100% accurate. Often times it will say that a car is idle for a couple hours, when I know it's off. Sometimes the patch the vehicle shows is not accurate. For example, it can show a vehicle going through a field or other places that it did not go. However, to not have to pay a monthly fee and to have a really good idea of where your car is at, this device works for me. I use it to track young adults using my vehicles, so I can tell when they leave, and where they go.

Works Well
I wanted to keep track of a vehicle and wasn't sure what the best option would be. There's so many different units on the market, it can be difficult to know what to get. I took a chance with this and it was the right choice. The system works well. There's a PC interface via a web browser and a phone app. The web browser access is the better option for real-time tracking and overall access to features IMO. The phone app works well but for me, it lags in real-time tracking and accuracy of path traveled. (could be my phone or carrier) The user is instructed to drive the vehicle 5-10 miles to calibrate the unit, I advise doing this before judging the units accuracy. It would be nice to add more control of the Geo-fencing option (Polygon), it's limited on the level of control when plotting areas to monitor. Overall, it's worth the money for an accurate, non monthly subscription based tracking unit. I'll be ordering an additional unit in the near future.

Terrible Design, Unusable App, Waste of Time
The Moto Watchdog Tracker is one of the most frustrating devices I’ve ever used. The concept sounds great — no monthly tracking fees — but the execution is awful. First, you have to pair it with your phone, but the app constantly crashes. If you scroll too fast or tap settings too quickly, the app just shuts down. It’s extremely unstable and feels unfinished. On top of that, the app has serious issues connecting to the actual device. Mine wouldn’t connect properly or even consistently show up on Bluetooth. I literally wasted half a tank of gas driving around trying to get it calibrated and connected. It never worked properly. Customer support is also a nightmare. It takes hours to get any meaningful help, and even then, the solutions don’t fix the core issues. To make things worse, the app doesn’t even have proper vehicle options. I tried adding my 2016 Kia Sportage, and it wasn’t even listed. The only Sportage options were 2013, 2019, and 2024. How does a tracking app not support common model years? Overall, the idea is good, but the product is poorly executed. Unstable app, connection problems, bad vehicle support, and slow customer service. I would not recommend this to anyone. Save your time and money.

WOW! FANTASTIC TRACKER!
I very seldom write reviews unless a product really exceeds expectations. This Moto Watchdog tracker really does what the seller claims it will do! I tried and returned two other trackers that did not perform as advertised. One required a monthly or yearly subscription for the cell service for the SIM chip. The watchdog actually comes with a pre-installed Sim chip that is as easy to set up as anything I have ever had. Their app for Android works flawlessly and has so much flexibility built in that it should meet the needs of anyone requiring a Tracker. It quickly notifies you of movement or of a trip starting or ending, all automatically. It is such a good app that you can select individual notifications for all of the various functions that it does or turn off notifications selectively if you do not want them. The tracking accuracy is very good and did track any of the trips that I have used it on. You can even download completed trips and see coordinates for various points along the Route. Very seldom have I found a product that exceeds my expectations but this is it! When the seller says purchase it and all service for Lifetime is included for free they mean that and it's true. Once you buy it and set it up in about 5 minutes that's it and it works. People have commented about the rather short battery life but for my purposes several days is excellent for keeping track of my suitcase while traveling or of a mobility scooter which we sometimes take on trips. Especially a place like Disney World where you park it and are concerned something might happen to it, the tracker gives you peace of mind and you know where it is at all times. And battery status shows on the app so there is no guessing when the tracker needs a recharge. If you need longer battery life or a hardwired tracker, they sell those models too. Another aspect of this product is the excellent, and I do mean excellent, customer service. You can send a text directly from the app and they normally respond within a few hours. I do not know of many products where you get this kind of personal customer service. So far I have only Pros for this device and no Cons . I have not needed to use the magnet for mounting so I cannot comment on its effectiveness, buy it does serm to be a pretty strong magnet. This is a rather lengthy review but this company and product deserve it!

The best option on the market. 100% recommended.
I had been looking for a decent tracker for a couple of months until I found this one. My main requirements were: no contracts with any mobile or cellular operators, no recurring payments, reliable performance, and a long-lasting battery independent of the car system. It satisfied all my needs. It may seem a little expensive at first, but think about it: you pay once and can use it for years, while others end up locked into contracts or, worse, unable to stop payments even after canceling the contract. I highly recommend this unit for everyday use for everyone.

Best unit I have used
Works better than the monthly subscription one I had before. Absolutely worth every penny. Going to buy them for all my trailers and toys.

The perfect tracker
Bought this and installed it , used an OBD extension and placed it behind the factory position where the plug goes , looks factory and works amazing. Gives notices of when car is started and when car moves outside of a curfew time. All this for free For the price it’s well worth the money

Poor battery life.
Great unit if you want to throw it in a purse or pocket but needs to be charged quite often. Tracking is good and easy to use. It’s nice that there’s no hidden fees or subscriptions. So I’m Looking at the higher battery life versions to see if they get decent use or not.
