Q: Can these platforms only be used in the 4x4x4? I have a heavier cat and would feel better if she has more support. The 4x4x4 is too large for my home.

You can make whatever size you want. You can do a 3 x 3 x 4 (if you put her a cat tower in the cage, you will need the 4 panel high). REMEMBER to zip tie ALL the joints. They will supply you with zip ties, but they are weak and cheesy. Buy you heavyweight zip ties. Zip all the joints, corners, where two panels meet put a zip tie in the middle. I love my cage, I have4 kittens in there. Mama cat sleeps on top which makes the top sag, but I have enough zip-ties on it, it’s safe.

With the zip ties it is sturdy enough amd my cats can’t break out.

Yes, as long as you use the reinforcements they give you, as shown and don’t just connect it at the back, it will hold 20#. I put the 6 pak of water on the perch to show it does not budge. This is a really nice solution for when you need to contain cats or small dog. Make sure you use the zip ties and don’t put a kitten younger than 4 weeks in it as their heads can fit through the squares….yes, I learned the hard way!
