In love with the dark romance plot
The story is pretty dark which keeps the readers on the edge. Pretty erotic romantic scenes. Forever will be in love with Zade.

amazing book
Obviously it’s dark, if you can’t take it, leave it. This book made me aware of such serious issues and I could experience the pain along with Adeline. It was a well written book and the wait was worth it. Adeline and Zade don’t get together at first but it still never made it boring. Although, I did wish Zade would torture Francesca and Claire more. Reading the first part, all I could think about was “Zade is going to end ______ for doing that.” I loved it. I gave it a 4 star because of the quality of the book. This publisher did a terrible job and the cover picture was literally blurry and pixelated and the spine had the name of the first book. Some pages were blurry and torn. Other than that, I’d give the book a 1000/5 stars but the publisher a 0/5 stars.

one hell of a book
A prefect blind of emotions, fighting mixed with love…..Carlton did a very exceptional job in portraying the lives of the MMC and MFC.

Meadows, baby. Our last name is Meadows.
•Without you, I will shatter. But with you, I am indestructible.•Meadows, baby. Our last name is Meadows.•I may own every breath in your body, but make no mistake, Adeline, you own mine, too. I am yours to command. To bend and break. To mould and manipulate. If mental trauma was a book, it would've been this one. I almost lost my entire brain cell while reading this book, sometimes even cannot be able to read it in one go and had to take 2 minutes break. But somehow I've managed to complete the entire book. Now, the question is, if the book traumatized me to that extent, then why am I giving it a 5-star rating? Well, the reason is the plot line and the scenes of this book. In this book, we can see Zade's love for Adeline more intensely. But to be honest, having someone to love like Zade, Adeline is the luckiest. And after Aaron Warner, Zade Meadows is one of the best book boyfriends I've ever read.My favourite scene in this book, there are numerous. As in the scene where Adeline proposed her love to Zade, where Zade show his love to Adeline every single moment after he found Adeline back, or the way Zade patiently wait for Adeline to be comfortable with him before he could touch her. But the scene where Adeline tries to break up with Zade actually broke my heart. And that is the scene where we can see how intensely Zade loves Adeline.Overall, all the trauma and sleepless night and lack of appetite were worth it as this book was 5 stars for me.

The book itself is really good.
The book is really good. But the problem is with the quality of the book mine has torn pages missing print. Really dark print etc.I was out of town when the book arrived. And when I checked the book, realised it is not upto the quality standard. I decided to return it. But to my bad luck the return period is already over.😕 So now I'm stuck with a damaged book. Really bummed about it.

Dark but mind blowing
The story is dark, intense, emotional, angsty, thrilling, dramatic, steamy and romantic. It is dark romance that begins from where the story ended in book 1. It is narrated in dual POVs and is accompanied by a number of trigger warnings. It is well written with a strong female protagonist and an amazing male protagonist. The readers will be sucked into the story right from the beginning itself. It is a highly recommended book for readers who like this genre.Personal Take:I have been pining to read the next part of the duet since the first book was released. It took me a few days to finish it but it was worth it. I really like the way the author writes her books and I absolutely loved Z (male protagonist) in this one. I really liked how the author included Sibel from her book and I hope I will see her in other books as well.

WOW!
This was the second instalment of the cat and mouse duet and what an insane ride of emotions it was! This story begins right from where the first book ended and I didn't expect it to be this darker, I mean yes I did read the trigger warnings and got the gist of what'll be happening in it but I had no idea the extent of it.In a few scenes, I was literally on the verge of crying and throwing my phone away. I had to stop, take a few deep breaths just continue reading this. The horrors Addie had to go through were gruesome to read but still, I did bc I wanted to see her survive and I knew she would and the way Z helped her, he did everything for her and it's really hard to not to fall in love with him, he made it really tough to not admire him and be feared as well as excited by him. The way my heart was breaking while reading this book and also I finished this in one sitting.I'm still in shock tho after reading and I just had to get my thoughts and I've so many things to say just go on this journey without any spoilers it's not for the faint of minds so read it at your risk and PLEASE READ THE TW!

AMAZING!!
This book. I will say was HARD to read. Not because of the content.. but because of my own traumas… the warning are there and I chose to continue. It wasn’t what happened to Addie that caused my triggers, but the emotions and internal torment she goes through once she is home. I, myself, went through the exact same thing when I came home from my ordeal. But seeing how she overcomes it all and continues to heal herself is a true inspiration to those of us who have gone through not just trafficking but assault and domestic violence. This book is absolutely amazing and H. D. Carlton is amazing with her writing. So poetic in how her words flow. I don’t care what others say… this duet was absolutely amazing and the spice is ON POINT!I seriously recommend this series, even to be an eye opener or just to for a great read!

Not for the faint heart
I can't put it down! I really enjoyed the first one. This one was much more graphic and less dark romance. But the story line was still great. It was horrific but hard to stop reading. The author really paints the picture so you can imagine the scene and characters in your mind. 10/10Check your trigger warnings first. It's one of those books also where I wouldn't want someone looking over my shoulder while I'm reading because of how messed up some of it is.

5⭐️
What a rollercoaster!!The only bad thing about this book is that it ends, I didn’t want it to end. This book shattered my heart and stitched it back together and shattered again and again, it was so good and so well written, I had such a great time. It will be on my top favourite books for sure.If u thought that the first one was already too dark and had a hard time I do not recommend reading this one.
