Not as advertised
Purchased this product, germination was excellent except there is nothing micro about this clover. I expected it to about 4 to 5 inches tall, to my surprise it’s about 10 to 12 inches tall. I’m not satisfied with this product at all, since I wanted to use it for low lawn cover and cutting clover is not easy. Very disappointed with this product. Since it takes a while to germinate and mature, I know I can’t expect a refund, it’s very sad.

Good Seed, Watch Conditions
I've heard a lot of good things about microclover so I purchased this Mountain Valley Seed Co Micro Clover Seed. All of the seeds appeared whole and healthy, and my test planting germinated and grew very well. Unfortunately, due to bad weather virtually none of the seeds I planted in the lawn came up, so I'll have to try again. In my test bed the clover has a rich green color, the plants are a much nicer size than traditional or field clover, and the plants are strong and healthy implying they'll be durable once they get a good start. I'm delighted with this seed and will replant.

The seed is filled with weeds
I did not want to leave a one star review; and I probably would have left a 2 or 3 star review if my interaction with their support wasn't so bad. My husband and I i want to go to a no mow grass, and clover makes sense. Especially microclover. We ordered microclover. The weekend that we planted it, we spent a day pulling up the grass and tilling the dirt. Then, we laid down our first round of seeds. We knew that some would not take, so we had planned on doing several rounds. We just started with the front part of our lawn. Yesterday was about the 6 week mark and our front lawn was overrun with with a weedy kind of grass. There was clover growing, but it was mostly the weedy tall grass. We pulled it out and laid some more clover down. I actually knew that this would be a process. I did not, however, think that the clover seed had so much weed in it. I came on to amazon to see if I could talk to somebody about this because I really didn't want to leave a bad review as I believe that everybody should go no mow. There's c s r was nice, but she told me I had to email them with pictures and she couldn't help me resolve it. I didn't take pictures, we just pulled out the grass. I hadn't intended leaving a review until I thought about it today. This is unfortunate, and I will try to find another source for clover.Because this is what I want to do. I just wasn't expecting the clover seemed to be so filled with weeds, and I was not expecting to have such a bad customer service experience.

Excellent for Zone 6-7 lawn. No watering needed.
So I seeded this microclover combined with some remaining Scott Cool Season mix last Fall, the ugly patchy lawn took off quite fast. It overwintered. It's now mid July and I have only mowed it twice. I kept the setting high (4) on my Makita mower. I have the greenest lawn in my neighborhood and I dont hire landscapers or put any fertilizer. Yesterday, I bagged the clippings and used them to start a new pile of compost. I would recommend this to folks who maintain their own lawns, want to save money, and use legumous clippings for a vegan compost pile. And by the way, this company Mountain Valley is awesome. I've used their cover crop and wild flower mixes with good results.

Good mini white clover seeds make an attractive ground cover.
Most of the seeds came up but I had to redo some areas up to 2X or 3X to get coverage. I will do more bare spots in the spring and am pleased with the mini clover that came up.

Not mini
Grew well, but I think it is regular clover, not mini.

(Update!) Half or less germinated
Updated 26 May ‘26: the micro clover is thriving in most areas and super FLUFFY and soft! It’s not tall, but luscious! I also put it in my garden area to help with soil and water retention. I’m sharing photos of some of the same earlier places it was planted, and how it looks now. About halfish germinated. I decided to try this for some bald areas in my yard. I prepped the ground and made sure the seeds were covered back up after I spread them around. I took pictures when they started to come up, and again a few days ago. Some areas are doing better than others. I don’t know how much was eaten or just didn’t germinate. But about half or less actually came up.
